It's been a strange one this season.
Great that County were for once not in a relegation battle.
Great that two teams I have always looked out for since a kid have fine well. Leicester with a few tweaks from the previous season doing the biz. Brighton sneaking it into the playoffs after a season hit by a number of injuries to the strike force.
Why these 2 teams you may ask?
Peter Shilton was my boyhood goalie hero.
Brighton - went on holiday in Hove each year as a child and saw the players training on the Sussex downs. ( days of the Goldstone ground) .

like i've said before, i go out on christmas eve in buxton every year with a small group of county fans. my brother generally only gets to the midweeks and the others sit in the cheadle end (although i also go to aways with them a bit), so although we speak about county on the 'phone, we don't see each other loads at games. every bloody christmas eve forever (it seems) we're worrying about relegation. we'd slumped into trouble a couple of weeks before christmas again this season, so yet again we were having 'the talk'.
early in the second half of the season we pulled ourselves clear of course, and even thought briefly about the playoffs given our then form and an extremely fair wind. we need to see some progression and have a much better season next time around, but it was a start not falling straight through a division.
