I came across this story the other week and thought that some of you would like to try it out for yourselves. You need to fill in the blanks with suitable football teams from England and Scotland. Please note that in certain cases the full name of the team is not used, only the main part i.e. Bolton and not the Wanderers part.
Good luck and I'll post the answers on here in a week or so (if you want to know if you are right sooner than that then please PM me your answers).
Enjoy
The ship set off nice and early as there was a storm forecast for later that night. The ship's _ _ _ _ was very strong and would have been fine in a storm, but it was much easier to sail when the _ _ _ was still and the sea calm.
"Look!" shouted Captain Blunt, grabbing his telescope, _ _ _ _ _ _ into the distance he could just make out the outline of the island where they sought the treasure.
Blunt checked his map and ordered the _ _ _ _ _ to land the ship at the _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ of the island. The map was very old with an few
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ marks around the edges from where it had almost been destroyed in a fire.
The ship landed and captain Blunt and his sidekick Pete disembarked and set off for the treasure. They had to negotiate heavy woodland, and they were very hungry as all they had on board the ship were some _ _ _ _ _ _ sandwiches. They'd had plenty of water though so they weren't thirsty. Some of the men had wanted to _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ on board the ship, but Blunt didn't want anyone drinking alcohol until they had retrieved the treasure and were back home safe and sound.
Soon the woodland began to clear and in the distance they saw an amazing _ _ _ _ _ _ _ / _ _ _ _ _ _ . "This must be a _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ " said Blunt as he checked his map and saw no reference to it.
Then, as they crept around the outside of the huge glass building, they noticed that some kind of liquid was sprayed on them from above. It did not make them scratch _ _ _ _ _ _ _, but as they _ _ _ _ _ _ _ round the side of the building they began to feel more and more dizzy until eventually they both fell to the ground, unable to continue.
The next thing they knew, they were lying down inside the building in front of a young woman in a gown sitting on a throne. The lady went on to explain that the island had two rulers and she was the _ _ _ _ _ / _ _ / _ _ _ / _ _ _ _ _ . "What is your business here?" she asked.
Blunt and Pete's _ _ _ _ _ _ were in their mouths, but Blunt quickly made up a story and said that many years ago he was wrongly accused of a serious crime and had to _ _ _ _ his personal possessions and flee the island, and that now he was returning to retrieve them. The woman did not look convinced, so Blunt thought he would try another story to try and gain her trust. "I knew your _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _" he said, pointing to a painting on the wall.
This was not true at all, but the woman seemed to believe it and eventually agreed to look at the map and help Blunt find his possessions. Taking him and Pete outside, she pointed towards a huge tree in the distance. "Legend has it that witches used to gather there" she said "It is known as the _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ " she added.
She told Blunt his possessions would be buried near this and warned him to be careful as they'd be entering the north side of the island and its inhabitants were very unfriendly. Blunt and Pete headed off and soon found the buried treasure, but before they had a chance to open it they noticed some st_ _ _ _ _ _ _ in the distance, heading their way.
"Quick" said Blunt. "This path _ _ _ _ _ back to the ship".
With the heavy load of their treasure slowing them down, they just managed to make it to the ship in time where they quickly put the
_ _ _ _ _ board and sailed off into the distance.
