So - with Tuesday's midweek schlep to Barrow called off, we're at EP next for a 2pm kick-off and two halves of 60 minutes against Championship opposition.
Post it all here...

More time to knit the team together on the training ground is probably more important than a long trip to Barrow. I imagine two teams for 60 minutes each. Be interesting to see which pairings start to shine

Being mostly of the 1990s Danny Bergara and Dave Jones era I find the notion of a "Friendly" with St*ke a bit hard to process.
Anyway, the more experimentation that DC can do in the pre-season the sooner we will have a defined shape, style and tempo of play etc which means the chance of a decent (instead of slow) start increases.
Fingers crossed, as ever.

The idea of having two one-hour halves has now been ditched (I think the self-same thing occurred last year, ahead of our friendly with Huddersfield), and we now have ourselves the more conventional 90-minute run-out... x.com/StockportCounty/status/1815416522166169637

It will be interesting to see how the defense fare whoever makes up either a three or four. It was plain to see from these two friendlies how vulnerable they are as both goals came from a free kick & cross into the box. The Oldham match saw some good play from them with the free kick taken by their number 10 (I think was Tom Conlon) who lucked good to produce Kitching's goal. I think he later made a great cross from the left which nearly went in. Never understood why he was disposed of!

I think Mark was allowed to leave by mutual agreement to pursue another career outside football, but I'm open to correction on this, of course.
