I remember moaning about this competition in the past, and someone pointed out that while it gives the bigger clubs a chance to give their youngsters game time, at least we can use it to give our fringe players and youngsters the same - they made a decent point.
I very much doubt that those that devised the idea had any interest in the latter, though, and I'd still rather we weren't in it at all.

They would love the ability to put their B (and C) teams into the lower leagues like happens here. Soulless games against teams whose fans are objectively watching to see if they can make the next step and so don’t care about the majority of the team. Or at away games (ie in El Palo) the only supporters are families of the players. |

From 1964 to 1967, part of my journey to school involved a bus ride past the actual BSM in Bristol Street in Birmingham. It was close to the Cinephone 'adult' cinema so there was more focus on the posters at the cinema than the motor dealers.
