I've thought of two songs I can put in after all, not necessarily my cup of tea but they're mildly listenable, so at least I'm adding to this one!
2020 - Doja Cat - Say So
2021 - Remi Wolf - Hello Hello Hello (not the awful remixed version)
I'm picking Remi Wolf - Hello Hello Hello
Here's a decent acoustic version (WARNING: EXPLICIT LYRICS)
Cheers, Eps, this has been a fantastic journey and I can't wait to see the final track listing.
One thought, though, when this is completed we really need to decide between us all regarding the order of tracks, so the album flows properly.

To keep this thread going how about a Top Album for each year ? Just an idea.

Hello, my CHUMY friends, it's been a while!
I'm sure we all have our view on when music died; music, after all, is a very personal thing. However, our collective view seems to be 2014. Our last two weeks (2015-2019; 2020-2024) have not mustered the same kind of enthusiasm - in fact it had been on the decline for a few weeks previously.
I'm not taking it personally, and thanks to all those who have stuck with it. It's just that our enthusiasm for more recently released material isn't there. Perhaps not a surprise as it has not had the time to build any longevity or affection. Plus, the trend seems to be for throw away hits (accelerated by YouTube and TikTok). Don't believe me? Check the artists involved in the 4 Do they Know It's Christmas? releases!
So, I think we'll wrap CHUMY up and leave the last 2 weeks unfilled in the Compilation. We'll perhaps revisit it in a few years and see how we feel.
In the meantime, thank you all for those who shared their songs, stories and votes.
Something touched me deep inside The day the music died So bye, bye... CHUMY

Thanks for all your efforts in organising this, and keeping it going, Eppers. Have really enjoyed reviving some memories of my own and reading/hearing those from fellow Heaveners. Perhaps unsurprisingly, I take something of a 'Peelie' approach to music - in that there are always, in any era, tracks worth listening to, and especially ones of the like that have never been heard before. So, they are still around, and have been these past few years - just not so much in public view as classic sounds of the 1960s, '70s and, say, early '80s were. Cheers, CHUMY!

It's been a brilliant journey, Eps, one that I've really enjoyed. It's amazing how, when you take the time to look back through the years of great music, memories come flooding back of where you were, who you were with and what you were doing when you first heard a particular song - there's nothing like a good tune to get you reminiscing.
Thanks for all your hard work, mate!

As the others have said. Thank you very much for running (and inventing!) this. Some real musical throwbacks and a view at how music has declined in the opinion of some old fuddy-daddies.

Cheers Eppers, a few blasts from the past. Just goes to show, music ain't what it used to be. (I think my granddad said that 60 years ago as well).

As the others have said, thanks for running with this and giving us the chance to go back in time.
The day the music died is very much a subjective function of age but I do think that the advent of streaming and playlists has changed things radically. Back in the day, some artists agonised over the order of album tracks to produce a balanced product but there's less need for it nowadays.

Back in the day, some artists agonised over the order of album tracks to produce a balanced product but there's less need for it nowadays. It's a decent point for the streaming platforms, but I believe that the resurgence of vinyl is ensuring that albums are once again being listened to in their entirety, so I do still think it's an important factor.

I'm sick of mobile phones and their p**s-poor auto-correction algorithms. The 'T' is nowhere near the 'L' on my phone's keyboard, yet this piece of Korean Samsung tat still managed to change 'entirety' to 'entirely' in my previous post. I was asked by my girlfriend only last night how long I've had my phone, suggesting that maybe it's time I got a new one. I was quick to point out, however, that I'd rather have my eyes removed with a rusty corkscrew. f*** off, Samsung.

Wrong thread, Gazz-man?! It's not meant for 'Irrational dislikes', mate, check out the post before it regarding track order on albums. This phone is constantly tripping me up!
