So, having started in 1960 back in mid-March, we've finally reached 2024.
It's hard to judge which current songs will stand the test of time and be regarded as classics in 60 years time, so the quantity of options is definitely reducing.
One of the things that has changed over the years is not just the sounds, but how we access music. Our CHUMY years have seen us go from vinyl to cassette to CD to downloads and on to streaming. I'm sure for many of us, our favourite songs are not just the artist/band and sound, but how we listen - especially memories of vinyl, cassette and CD.
With that in mind, the songs to get us started are the top of the official charts from each year, the combination of sales and streams:
Blinding Lights - The Weeknd Bad Habits - Ed Sheeran As It Was - Harry Styles Flowers - Miley Cyrus Stick Season - Noah Kahan (as of April)
I can happily say I have not streamed any of these songs, and I'm not sure if I've listened to any of them (and not even heard of Noah Kahan until now).
So, for the last time, let's see what you've got. Please share your best songs from 2020 - today. Don't forget to indicate your favourite.

I've edited your post, Eps, you had put '2010 - 2024' in the title, I hope you don't mind.

Mate, I've got nothing, literally. Apologies, but I'm unable to pick anything for this one.

Thanks, matey. Going back to 2010 might have given us a chance of some songs!

As it was always going to be difficult, I did this a couple of weeks ago and basically came up with:
2021 Higher Power - Coldplay
2022 Another Love - Tom Odell
However, since then I heard something on Radcliffe & Maconie which I think is terrific and has shot to the top of my list. I give you, free of charge, When I Was Here by Bill MacKay. Apparently from Chicago, much of his work is instrumental. The style takes me back to the late 60s when folkies were going electric.

All about the future, this one - and, through these acts, it still looks to be bright... 2020Yard Act: Fixer Upper2021Wet Leg: Chaise Longue2023Boygenius: Not Strong EnoughEnglish Teacher: The World's Biggest Paving Slab2024The Last Dinner Party: Nothing MattersActually, of those groups, Wet Leg are showing fewest signs right now of leading the line in years to come - with an almost-mythical second album having been teased for over a couple of years, without showing any concrete signs of appearing. But in the delightfully quirky Chaise Longue, the Isle of Wight duo absolutely ruled the summer of '21 with a French disco vibe, and that will be my nomination for the final voting paper... And, what do you know, there actually is a French version, too :

Eppers: I've changed 'Week 12' in the thread title to 'Week 13'.

So, basically of the 3 bits of info in the title, I only got '2024' right. Got it.
Ironically, one of the songs on my shortlist is It Must Change by ANOHNI and the Johnsons 🙄

Don't worry, Eps, this has been a fantastic diversion. Not only that, we've also discovered, roughly, where music died! RIP, Music. Maybe we should all bow our heads at this point.

It's ok, Gaffer, I honestly couldn't find a single track I'd heard of, and I'm not willing to potentially infect my Deezer account by playing any of them to try to pick one - their algorithm could end up spamming me with suggestions for that shite for months!
No thanks.

Some similarities there, macc. Not too surprising!
Wet Leg were brilliant live supporting Foo Fighters.

It might be we leave this until the start of 2025 when we can look back over the whole year 🤔

That might be an idea, mate. Maybe we could revisit each of the previous threads and add tunes we missed out?
I know I've missed a few along the way. Maybe we could list every second placed song and vote on those to add an extra track or tracks to the album, or something like that?
Just a thought, to help keep this ticking over.
