It's a sad state of affairs when we've become so sh*te that there is virtually no post-match discussion on here. That's not a swipe at anyone, I'm just making an observation regarding the apathy that has engulfed even the hardiest of souls among us.
Q) What are we when we're taking part in a competition in which we are incapable of competing?
A) Cannon fodder.

Horrendous game, both teams were ridiculously poor, Canucks better do me proud against the Boscum Bruins tonight!

Fortunately I spent the afternoon in the pub. Sadly I was driving so I'm still sober. Cheers for the updates Macc

just glad i didn't go. a severe weather warning was enough to put me off. that's three home league games on the trot i've missed. must be at least 20 years -when i was living in oxford- since i've done that.

That's a surprising stat given your dedication, ars, and I think that judging by today's (*cough* bullsh*t) attendance, there are many like you who have felt and done the same. However, I won't think it's time to chuck the towel in until Maccy decides to swerve a match, he's my ECG for County. If he stops going..... the club will be as good as dead.
Also, I can't help thinking about the number of STs sold for this season, and I wouldn't be surprised to see the club submitting 1200+ attendance figures even if we ended up with three men, a dog and a gang of pigeons at EP on matchdays.
They just don't give a toss.

i must admit, i have a dirty little secret. i got banned from driving for six months in september for an accumulation of points. had been driving for 19 years without any, then i (rightly) got done in 2010 for talking on my 'phone. hadn't spotted two letters in among all the junk mail last year so didn't reply to a speeding ticket -the ticket itself was again fair enough...i hadn't slowed down quickly enough coming off a dual carriageway and was doing 48 in a 40. because i hadn't replied, i got a 'failure to identify driver'. i rang up the court and said it was me, but they'd already set a date and i got 6 points and a £500 fine. obviously gutted with that and it put me right on the brink. then in that 50mph bit of the M60 near the bredbury turn off, i'd slowed enough for the entry camera but sped up too quickly for the exit one. i was apparently doing 58.
so that was it. p***ed me off that on all those 'motorway cops' shows, they'll announce the penalties the various miscreants have got at the end, and it always seems as though driving a burning tractor through an orphanage, unlicensed and uninsured will get them 6 points and a bit of tickling. i'd always said when virtually everyone i'm close to got points (though never banned) and i never had, that if i did, it would be more than one set in a short space of time and i'd be worrying...never thought i'd get banned though.
so i went to the worcester and gloucester games on the train. i'm a few miles from the station and cos i'm always last minute, a bus is too risky so i get a taxi. then stand on the train for the first half of the journey. then a taxi home after; which all in all is getting on for £40...but it's more the time...the annoyance at the slow train home if we play badly. i'm always tired after the working week, but it was easy to just get in the car, do 75 minutes and be at the ground. now it's more time, and timings too. it's made it more of a pain in the a_r_s, and that makes it easier to miss. each game i've actually intended to go - the telford one i was going until the moment where i had to start getting ready right then in order to make the train...and just suddenly couldn't be bothered with it. this time, my mum told me last night that the weather was going to be bad; there were various severe weather warnings on the bbc website, and that tipped it over for me. despite the fact that driving, i virtually had to snow plough over the M62 for the newport game in march.
so. that's a lot of the reason why. if i'd have been driving, i'd have gone to all three. haven't said about it before because unsurprisingly, i'm not very proud of it. glad to be given the excuse today though - i heard the first go in on pure, but i'd fallen asleep before the second. much like our defence, i assume.

Really sorry to hear that, mate. Hopefully we'll be on the up in the new year in time for your return to the wheel, then you won't have to drive home from too many more defeats. At least you won't be in the hat to be the designated driver at all this Christmas, I suppose that is one small crumb of comfort.

Cripes... better keep on wearing my happy-go-lucky hat, and maintaining the Radio Macc transmitters in good working order, then !

(I type the line as 'School's Out' is playing on BBC4.) Sorry to hear that. Hopefully, you'll be making the short hops within Yorkshire next month, matey?

True Gazza I'm struggling to post anything about County. I'm past caring, it was that boring in the first half I actually fell asleep and a nice chap woke me up so he could get past my seat! Never fallen asleep before at County but I just couldn't be bothered watching. I knew we would lose today so I don't actually know why I bothered going. I think it's because I bought the season ticket seems such a waste of money not to go. Another first for me was leaving with 15 minutes to go, never leave before the final whistle even if only to boo the con artists posing as footballers and guess what couldn't even be bothered to do that. They wouldn't care anyway, why should I? Atmosphere was dead at the game the club will follow unless investors come in and the board leave sooner rather than later.

it's why the board's so quiet as well gr. nobody can even be bothered talking about the football side of things. since 2008-09 all we've had to discuss is an incredibly sharp decline on the pitch, plus worries that our leadership and activities off the pitch are going to mean that we'll be without a club at all eventually. again, pats on the back all round for our dogged persistence.
i haven't looked past bradford away macca. it's that thing of too fatigued with it all to look too far ahead. i'm intending to go next week (although we'll see) then the three holiday games. if guiseley's next month (which now having looked, it is!) i'll get to that. it hasn't exactly been awful having an excuse to have a rest from it, i must say. being a season ticket holder i've previously been making myself go however bad the football has been, but the added inconvenience i've caused myself is a good enough reason to miss a few.
