Speaking of whom, I hope he's going to be okay for Sutton. Any news in the press box, Maccy? Precautionary, I think (and hope!), matey.

seems the only County success last night was christmas dinner in a cup, which they all chortled at patronisingly.
thought some of the play looked ok, but the amount of five yard passes trying to slip in forwards in their final third that went to aldershot players was alarming, and if it went out wide the cross either found a defender for an easy clearance or plopped straight into the hands of the 'keeper. bet he thought he'd get more of a torrid time than that limp display.
i find it interesting how we're so streaky. this goes back to the conference promotion season - win a million games on the trot and then totally blow up. we were streaky last season, and again this. poor start, record run, gone shite again. now i am aware that teams often drop off a cliff at the end of a good run - we went shite for a bit after our 9 in a row (and eventually shipped 7 at home to rochdale). paul robinson briefly compared it to spurs last night, but spurs had a decent start, got lucky a couple of times (invevitably i'm going to point to the farce of VAR on the luis diaz goal, the opposition reduced to 9 men, and still only winning in the last second from an own goal, before celebrating like they had won the league) and then sh*t the bed, like we all knew they were going to. i think even they knew they were going to, that's why they were giving it all the celebration at the time before it went wrong. county though - rubbish start to the season again. then a record. then no wins in six. it's too much of a pattern to be coincidence, and it's odd. absolute faith though that it will all start firing again.
(before the next bump)

since our championship season, i haven't seen us very much. that season, we were on bt sport, which i've got, seemingly every week in the last third of the season. i know we were on against bolton and west ham, and i've seen the odd other game, but i'm mostly clued into it from the EFL highlights or my brother or cousin's whatsapps on a matchday. therefore, i've mostly stfu on it. still don't feel like i've gained loads of extra hours at the weekend, from not traipsing over the m62 or wherever we were playing, then getting back and giving my interminably long take on affairs...that's probably because i have very poor time management...

...that's probably because i have very poor time management... You and me both, mate. My frankly horrible shift pattern in work means I just can't do the matchday thing anymore, and when I can get to Stockport, I use that time to see my family, but I never seem to have enough time when I get there. The broken train system in this country doesn't help at the best of times, but when you factor in the strikes (action that I'm 100% behind, by the way) it's a nightmare that can take anywhere up to three hours door to door, and it's only 45 minutes away up the bloody M62. I just didn't motivate myself enough to learn to drive when I was younger, and I'm paying for that now - in spades. There are times when I wish I could go back to the 1980s, so I could give the younger me such a f***ing slap.

Agree MSH was one of the better performances but he hasn’t been his old self for a long while.I really can't agree with that last part, mate. What I have seen on match streams and live TV this season, plus read on here suggests that you are wrong on this one - you can't ignore his bad luck with injuries either. Physically, he's been a completely different animal this season, though, riding and getting up from some horrendous tackles. He should be one of the first names on the team sheet for me. Some comments on another forum have suggested that he didn't play well on Wednesday, which I found absolutely f***ing staggering - were they watching the same game? If it wasn't for him, we would more than likely have been 2-0 down long before half-time. He did more in one half than most did in the 90+ minutes. He's a fantastic player, one that would cost us a considerable amount of money to replace.

MSH has been so consistently good this term, it has been like signing a new player - and he is keeping out Knoyle, who is no slouch. His only below-par performance that springs to mind was at Morecambe, where the playing conditions were diabolical enough to allow some slack to be cut. And, for me, he - along with Camps, whose first-half performance just shaded it so far as my personal MoM choice was concerned - could be considered an exception in coming out of the game with some credit.

There are times when I wish I could go back to the 1980s, so I could give the younger me such a f***ing slap. yeah i know what you mean. to be fair, i could reasonably go back to most years and give myself a f***ing slap, or i could accept my flawed beauty and get on with it

All teams have a rough patch.
Perhaps better while we have a leading gap, than later on in the crucial run in. Jan and Feb will be important otherwise we may be in a play off scramble again.
