Votes and comments welcome. Some good finishes, passes and runs from several but I thought Sarce was consistently effective on his (unexpectedly early) return.

Close call for me, with Sarce a very good second - but I thought Powell oozed class, and he gets my vote. He played a part in the build-up to the first two goals, and also finally showed the quality of touch and and vision we have been expecting to see from him. A glimpse of hope there on an otherwise disappointing afternoon.

Powell is my choice as well for the assist and excellent passes. He showed us in the first half what he really can do and hopefully when fully match fit will be even better.

Thanks, chaps. So our August games over and our first of September, and Big Ben leads the way:
MotM Outright / Split
1 / 1 Hinchliffe 1 / 0 Croasdale 1 / 0 Madden 1 / 0 Powell 1 / 0 Sarcevic 1 / 0 Wright 0 / 1 Barry 0 / 1 Johnson 0 / 1 Pye
Goals / Assists
3 / 0 Barry 2 / 0 Olaofe 1 / 2 Madden 1 / 1 Horsfall 1 / 0 Rydel 1 / 0 Sarcevic 0 / 3 Touray 0 / 1 Collar 0 / 1 Cotterill 0 / 1 Powell 0 / 1 Wright
For new onlookers, I award assists that might not otherwise be tallied... such as winning a penalty (Touray getting clattered against Utd kids), forcing a rebound from which we score (Horsfall) etc. Normal-time penalties are included in the above but not penalty shootouts.

Great stuff, H. We ought to add in Cotterill for his long-ball assist that found Tanto at the death on Saturday.

Cheers, Maccy, now added in.
(How on earth I just managed to miss that fine pass, I do not know).

Watching the highlights now, it looks even better than it did in the moment! Hopefully, that will have given him some confidence, as he (understandably, in the circumstances, and not through any fault of his own) had had a nervy-looking start to life as a Hatter.
