Time to get some points on the board pronto, hopefully through two home victories in the coming week.
First to visit SK3 will be Bradford on Tuesday night, with a packed ground under the lights in prospect.
Post it all here...

Best bit is the graphics but it is a decent read apart from the Greater Manchester bit.

Looks like Herms match analysis may have disappeared ? This dozy b*****d deleted it by mistake. I posted a rant that was influenced in part by Captain Morgan last night (not a habit of mine, but there's a family loss imminent and I needed to numb myself a little) on the Walsall thread by mistake, so after realising I'd posted it on the wrong thread, I moved it to the Bradford thread, but by then H had already posted his thoughts on the match which meant my post was placed above his. So I read his usual measured , rational common sense post and it made me realise that I was, in fact, talking shite, so I decided to delete my post.....I think you can guess what happened next. I've sent H a PM to apologise and explain, and hopefully he'll repost his thoughts later. In the meantime, my apologies once again to H and indeed to everyone for this absolute f*** up. Sorry.

These things happen, Gazz-man - and I speak from experience, after the original great lost music thread got swallowed up in its entirety during lockdown! . More pertinently, thoughts are with you and your family, matey.

No worries at all, it's just ramblings. Thoughts to gazz.
Basically it would have been a travesty to come away with nothing last night, though it was disappointing that we played so negatively from our own throw in the lead up to Touray's give-away for the concession. With no height, we were attempting to keep the ball on the deck more and playing balls into midfield ultimately carries a danger that going longer to pick up 2nd ball does not.
MSH's 1st half was as good as I've seen him play for a longwhile and it reminded what a danger he can pose when running at defenders. That they shut him down after the 1st half was no surprise, while Touray had the most touches in the game by some distance, showing the pattern that we ended up mostly on the left.
Like DC, I wouldn't be one for saying wide CBs must be out-and-out CBs - the role isn't the same as the main CB in the middle. But I would say that while Knoyle replaced MSH last season and was surely one of, if not the best RWBs in the league, I've not seen his play at RCB to be an improvement upon Wright. Likewise, while Touray may be great at WB, I have yet to see he is an improvement on Hussey at LCB. This may change with game time, of course, and both are clearly capable footballers. I can't recall how many pre-season games the back 3 played together.
DC did well with subs and their timing, I thought Olaofe was pushed over in the box with no attempt to play the ball and added a spark. Crankshaw made a wonderful run which the then deeper playing Madden found and he was unlucky to poke over the bar. Madden was exemplary in his effort.
Overall, while we've started fitter this campaign, we've somewhat repeated previous seasons of bringing in players who we can't see how they fit in but get shunted in anyway (Powell, Camps) and fiddled about with the back 3 at the start of the campaign. I appreciate sometimes injuries mean it has to happen, but those things seem more by choice.
I left proud of the boys because it was an intense night with how it played out. They kept going and didn't do anything silly discipline wise, which was the ultimate killer to our first months last season. I was pleased too for DC and the staff because the two home games deserved at least a point from each - Gillingham was a little smash and grab and we were much the better side last night.
Onto the next!

I agree with all said. Cannot understand where this negativity is coming from. Almost all the defenders & WB's suffer from it. I mentioned in a previous post they seem to spend more time in reverse than going forward. MSH has a tendency to do it rather than play to his strengths. I guess it's no fun being hacked down but he can frighten the opposition with his speed. These continual mistakes have to be cut out. As DC stated, it's a kick in the teeth each time it's happened. No more so than last night. Unfortunately, it was Cody who started the move by passing the ball from the half way line back to the far side of County's half. What happened next was just unbelievable. Apart from that, I thought he did well distributing the ball. Another issue is killing the game off. While Wooton is out no prolific striker has been brought in. What quality was out there has now been snapped up. Look at Gillingham with Nadesan, Crawley with Orsi, Crewe with Demetriou. It's all a little too late. It may have been an option to bring back Christian Dennis. We certainly can't pin our hopes on Powell as he seems to be struggling (or just lazy) & now has an injury.

WYP_BantamsPolice on Twitter: "One City fan was arrested for assault and public order in relation to an incident against the Stockport County keeper."
Saw someone being led out but didn't know why. Gah.
