I can still remember the first time I heard Nutbush City Limits on the radio and thinking that it was the most wonderful piece of music I had ever heard. 83 is not a bad age but it is still a jolt when the musical heroes and heroines of your adolescence drop off this mortal coil. For me, that includes Gordon Lightfoot too.
