Hello everyone,
I hope I find you well today.
I am a 3rd Year University student at MMU working on a dissertation-type project around football with an overarching theme of looking at why people are so passionate in their support of their local team versus gloryhunting.
I am a local lad so have chosen to base this around Stockport County.
I'm looking to hear stories about how your matchday routine has changed over the years?
Got a favourite pub with a great story? Chippy whose chips have gone downhill? Any superstitions to fufil? I'd love to include them in an article that I've written as part of the project.
If you could include a name and method of contact (please private message if you need to) that would be awesome.
I look forward to reading your replies.
Cheers,
James

When putting petrol in ahead of an away trip, I always make sure that the pence numbers end up identical - £24.99, £27.33, etc. Our form on the road since I started driving myself has been pretty good, too, so I like to think it helps...!

I used to have an old County mug I insisted my Mum drink a brew out of whenever we played away, and it seemed to me at the time that whenever she did we did well.
If we lost, I'd ring her when I got home to ask did she drink out of the mug, and I swear there were a good few times when she apologised to me for having not done so!
My memory may very well be exaggerating this, but I honestly believe that, more often than not, when we'd lost she'd forgotten to drink out of it.
The superstition wore off as I got older, but I was absolutely convinced at the time that it helped to bring us some luck!
