Woman of the Match: the terribly nice lady in the directors' box, into whose lap my glasses fell, undamaged, from a great height from the press area at half-time.
On descending three flights of stairs to retrieve them, such was my relief that I called her an angel and we hugged, before I apologised that we were two goals to the good against her team, and she exclaimed how perfectly charming I was.
All a bit hazy, but I think we might also have got engaged... 😉

Hussey seems to be very useful with a free kick or corner doesn't he? Interesting that he was a member of the 2020/2012 League 2 Team of the Season when playing for Cheltenham. Also in that team, playing for Cambridge, was Kyle Noyle, now of this parish. Also in that team, playing for Bolton, one Antoni Sarcevic, also now of this parish. So 3/11ths of that League 2 Team of the Season now play for County, but no County player in the 2022/2023 League 2 Team of the Season? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EFL_Awards |
