10th Sutton 57 from 39 - COUNTY, Bradford, Orient, Northampton, Colchester, Rochdale, Carlisle. - Max 78 pts
Bradford and Mansfield back in the equation for that finally play off spot. Orient did every one a favour with a win and we could do with that again on Friday when they play Salford. Still in our own hands and a crucial Easter weekend coming up. Carlisle must also be looking over their shoulder like us.
That slow start to the season and too many draws since Christmas beginning to count against us.

Points dropped by Northampton, Stevenage, Bradford, Salford, Sutton and Barrow.
Positions 8th to 15th ALL losing. Newport an excellent 3-0 home win against top form Northampton !
Next up Monday - only Bradford and Sutton playing each other in the top ten. A few fighting for League 2 status may influence a couple of resulting outcomes though. We need a good win to maintain the widening gap between play-off spots and the chasing pack.

I hope any Notts County fans travelling by train have bought open tickets, as with the now traditional stoppage time at Wrexham it's anyone's f***ing guess when that game will finish!

10th Sutton 57 from 41 - Orient, Northampton, Colchester, Rochdale, Carlisle. - Max 72 pts
Points dropped by Orient, Stevenage, Carlisle (to 10 men), Mansfield and Sutton. Big move by County and useful addition to the goal difference puts the pressure on teams with games in hand.
Carlisle with 5 out of 5 vs top ten have the hardest run in on paper. Orient look to be safe and up but with 4 out of 6 against top ten will have a big influence on the overall outcome. Stevenage have now dropped 11 of their last 15 points.

Excellent stuff, Lennie.
I never make predictions and I'm not about to start. What I will do, however, is say that IF the football gods have already decided that we're going to miss out on automatic, I want it to be before the last game of the season.
Now bear with me on this, as there's more than one reason for my saying this.
Firstly, I believe that missing out on the last day will be a real kick in the gut and could well put paid to our confidence going into the play-offs.
Secondly, I don't want a massive disappointment like we had at Halifax in 1990 repeating itself at home to Hartlepool and spoiling what will hopefully be the day they unveil the little man's statue, as the two events will be forever linked in history if we were to miss out on promotion on that day.
Danny's day needs to be free of any negativity.
Just my humble opinion, but hopefully we will get the job done.

April 15th and this is as it stands:- Top Ten opponents in Bold. Home games underlined
1st Orient 84 from 41 - Gillingham, Crewe, Mansfield, COUNTY, Bradford - Max 99 pts
2nd Northampton 74 from 42 - Sutton, Harrogate, Bradford, Tranmere. - Max 86 pts
3rd Stevenage 73 from 41- Doncaster, Mansfield, Swindon, Grimsby, Barrow. -Max 88 pts --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4th COUNTY 71 from 42 - Carlisle, Rochdale, Orient, Hartlepool. - Max 83 pts
5th Carlisle 71 from 42 - COUNTY, Barrow, Salford, Sutton. - Max 83 pts
6th Bradford 71 from 41 - Swindon, Gillingham, Crewe, Northampton, Orient.- Max 86 pts
7th Mansfield 66 from 41 - Newport, Stevenage, Orient, Harrogate, Colchester. - Max 81 pts
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 8th Salford 66 from 42 - Hartlepool, Walsall, Carlisle, Gillingham. - Max 78 pts
9th Barrow 62 from 42 - Grimsby, Carlisle, Hartlepool, Stevenage. - Max 74 pts
10th Sutton 57 from 42 - Northampton, Colchester, Rochdale, Carlisle. - Max 70 pts
A mixed bag of results and it could have been better and also so much worse for County. Well done late show for Collar.
Wins only for Orient, Stevenage and, sadly, Bradford. All others drew except Salford and Sutton who lose ground with a loss.
Full complement of matches for all ten on Tuesday. Crucial evening for County/Carlisle.

Carlisle look to have the toughest run in. Hopefully we can make the start of it worse for them. A point there would not be bad. Squeaky bum time has indeed begun and both Northampton and Stevenage will definitely be looking over their shoulders.

April 19th and this is as it stands:- Top Nine opponents in Bold. Home games underlined
1st Orient 84 from 42 - Crewe, Mansfield, COUNTY, Bradford - Max 96 pts
2nd Northampton 77 from 43 - Harrogate, Bradford, Tranmere. - Max 86 pts
3rd Stevenage 76 from 42- Mansfield, Swindon, Grimsby, Barrow. -Max 88 pts --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4th COUNTY 72 from 43 - Rochdale, Orient, Hartlepool. - Max 81 pts
5th Carlisle 72 from 43 - Barrow, Salford, Sutton. - Max 81 pts
6th Bradford 71 from 42 - Gillingham, Crewe, Northampton, Orient - Max 83 pts
7th Salford 69 from 43 - Walsall, Carlisle, Gillingham. - Max 78 pts -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
8th Mansfield 69 from 42 - Stevenage, Orient, Harrogate, Colchester. - Max 81 pts
9th Barrow 62 from 43 - Carlisle, Hartlepool, Stevenage. - Max 71 pts
So it's goodbye to Sutton from the play-off mix although they can still do a few favours against Carlisle on the last day. Only 3 wins last night, unfortunately they were Northampton, Salford and Mansfield.
This weekend sees County play bottom club Rochdale, Mansfield at Stevenage and Barrow visit Carlisle. Things should be very clear after those matches. Bradford will need to be on their toes against improving Gillingham. Mansfield vs Orient on April 25th as well.
Plenty of teams can do damage to each other in our favour. County also have GD to their advantage at the moment.

April 23rd and this is as it stands:- Top Nine opponents in Bold. Home games underlined
1st Orient 87 from 43 GD +29 - Mansfield, COUNTY, Bradford - Max 96 pts
2nd Northampton 80 from 44 GD +20 - Bradford, Tranmere. - Max 86 pts
3rd Stevenage 76 from 43 GD +18 - Swindon, Grimsby, Barrow. -Max 85 pts --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4th COUNTY 75 from 44 GD +25 - Orient, Hartlepool. - Max 81 pts
5th Carlisle 75 from 44 GD + 24 - Salford, Sutton. - Max 81 pts
6th Salford 72 from 44 - GD + 18 - Carlisle, Gillingham. - Max 78 pts
7th Bradford 72 from 43 - GD + 18 - Northampton, Crewe, Orient - Max 81 pts
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
8th Mansfield 72 from 43 - GD +17 - Orient, Harrogate, Colchester. - Max 81 pts
So Barrow disappear from the play-off calculations and little else changed apart from Stevenage having to look over their shoulder after a defeat to Mansfield. Bradford had a see-saw draw with much improved Gillingham. Salford managed a late winner with only 10 men on the pitch.
Midweek sees Mansfield host Orient and Stevenage travel to Swindon who bagged 4 goals today. We have to hope Orient won't have partied too hard this weekend and save their festivities for Friday before we play them.
Salford vs Carlisle a crucial game next weekend.
