If we can name starting 11s that can move between a back 3 and 4 then I think it should help us to defeat these sides who make a plan based upon basic research of us and can then immediately deduce from the named personnel that it's exactly how we're starting. It should also help against better sides that take a lead and drop.
So long as the other named personnel would allow it, a player like Hippolyte is perfect for this because he might start as wingback if we play a back 3 (Hussey/Rydel possible LCB) or we might start with a back 4 and he's actually in midfield, or we have a back 4 and he's in the front 3. To me, that's where sides would need to have a lot more about them (thinking and communication) to cope with us as we use whatever form is likely to overcome their 'on the day' set-up.
Under JG, players like Keane (RCB in a 3/DCM in a 4) and Cowan (RB in a 4/RCB in a 3) gave these little tactical advantages without needing subs. Wright is such a player (RCB in a 3/CM in a 4) as is Hippolyte, as said. Obviously Hussey is a LB/LCB type and I would imagine Rydel would be capable at LCB with its demands as well as being able at LB/LWB.
I do agree with what DC said about us not seeing what's in front. Obviously plans are made but he can't guarantee a side turns up with the shape they've used all season. He can't guarantee they always send 2 out to defend a short corner ir whatever - it's information of likelihood, that's all. If you see a 2v1 short corner and expected a 2v2, guess what... play the game you're in and not the one back in the changing room. That's not a suggestion to just do whatever you want, it's the understanding that you play where you have the advantage. If you overload on one side unexpectedly... maybe don't switch play!
We have a talented manager and players and I'm confident they'll start posting the points again.

The way I see it is we're currently in the play off's in our first season back in the football league. We also had an awful start to the season so let's enjoy the ride! There's up's and down's for every team in every division.
We'll still win games we don't expect to and we'll still lose games we're expecting a win from. We didn't lose last night so it's a point gained.
Onwards and upwards.
