Back at EP on Tuesday night for a game that was rescheduled after the big freeze in December - although temperatures still look set to be pretty low for the second attempt, so pile on those extra layers!
Post it all here...

So no goals scored in two which were a draw and loss. Anything other than a win here will feel like a slump with a side of panic.
That’s if the game goes ahead, looking like another frozen pitch to me

In December we would have considered this a nailed on three points. Not so sure looking at the American backing and lone players brought in recently. How annoying.

Their form has tailed off a tad of late - precisely like ours, in fact, with a goal-less draw at the weekend, and a defeat the previous Saturday.
One thing potentially in our favour is that they had to make another long schlep north (to Harrogate) two days ago, so travelling fatigue may have a part to play...

Hmmm, so what can we say about Gillingham? Well at P 33 W 8 D 10 L 15 F 21 A 37 they sit a modest 20th in the table, although their A form is weaker - P 17 W 2 D 6 L 9 F 10 A 21 - which puts them next to bottom, only Crawley being below them.
The Ws are 0-2 at Colchester on 21st Jan and 0-2 at Rochdale in Feb. The Ds were 1-1 at Grimsby, 0-0 Hartlepool, 1-1 at Crewe, 0-0 at Crawley, 3-3 at Swindon in Jan and 0-0 at Harrogate this month. The Ls were 2-0 AFC Wombles, 3-0 Tranmere, 1-0 Carlisle, 2-0 at Orient, 1-0 at Donny, 2-0 at Newport, 2-1 at Sutton, 1-0 at Stevenage, 2-0 at Mansfield,
So even with a bit of an uptick in form that's still a very modest slate. Goal scoring continues to be a problem, their top scorer Tom Nichols has scored 3 goals this season. After him a total of 4 players have scored twice - D Elkan Baggott (who was on loan from ipswich but now on loan at Cheltenham), F Ollie Hawkins, F Scott Kashket and MF George Lapslie. A further 10 players have each scored once.
A few of those players were signed in the transfer window, including Exeter City MF Timothee Dieng, GK Glenn Morris from Crawley, Striker Ollie Hawkins and MF George Lapslie both from Mansfield, MF Ethan Coleman from Orient and F Jayden Clarke from Dulwich Hamlet, re-signing QPR D Conor Masterson on loan to season's end and two further loans to season's end, both strikers - Aiden O'Brien and Tristan Abrahams from Shrewsbury and Eastleigh. After the deadline they also picked up ex Mansfield D Lewis Page on a short term deal. I make that 10 signings and pretty much a starting XI.
Recent form has been a bit better W 6 D 2 L 3 in the league since Jan. The Ws, though, all came against lower or mid table sides against Hartlepool, Colchester, Crawley, Grimsby, Rochdale and AFC Wombles. The Ls were against Stevenage, Bratfut and Mansfield which suggests that County can, and should, match the results of those teams.
It's easy to become frustrated and start thinking Oh if County lose this that's our playoff chances gone etc. County have had a sticky patch, no doubt, but County are more than capable of winning this game although, as on Saturday, an early goal would make a big difference. Keep the faith, and keep your fingers crossed and things may look a lot better come 5pm on Saturday.

I think we will have a lot of possession but struggle to score. I expect us to edge it with a 1-0 win.

It’s all County so far but Gillingham are very organised and can clearly defend
Like a lot of games recently all our joy is down the left.

I’m going to lie awake all night wondering why DC took off Rydel at half time

Poor.
DC needs to work out how to break down these teams, as it's starting to look like we've been found out.

18 shots and only 2 on target. Enough said.
We've got to stop hitting the woodwork so regularly as well. A point at Barrow and 2 x 0-0 draws which should have been 3 points each. 5 points dropped. We would be in the automatics with those in the bag. Mansfield, Swindon, Salford and Sutton to come after this weekend at Colchester. Might be easier to play against teams with some attacking intent themselves. Might open up that last 1/3 for us to be more clinical.

I totally agree regarding the better teams having something more to play for so may be more open, Lennie, but DC does need to work out how to combat teams that set up like this, as more results like these could cost us promotion.
I just think that some managers in this division have sussed him out, none more so than Pete Wild.
