So what do we know about Stevenage, well being firmly in second place behind run-away leaders Orient, they boast a record of P 29 W 16 D 9 L 4 F 43 (one less than County) A 23. Not a bad record that, thankfully for County their A record is more modest - P 14 W 4 D 8 L 2 F 14 A 14, still not a bad record that.
The Ws are Tranmere 1-2, Crewe 1-2, Crawley 1-2 and Donny 0-1. The Ds are Walsall 1-1, Gillingham 1-1, Colchester 1-1, Grimsby 1-1, Orient 0-0, Harrogate 1-1, Sutton 0-0 and Newport County 2-2. The Ls are Salford City 1-0 back in Aug and Bratfut 3-0 back in Sep. So they are unbeaten in almost 5 months.... hmmm, maybe due to lose one then?
Stevenage, of course, beat County 2-1 back in Sept, a game in which Ash Palmer got sent off conceding a, 87th min penalty. At that point County were leading 0-1 with a goal from Camps. Luke Norris scored the Pen in the 88th minute and then Jamie Reid scored a 90+5th minute winner....
They spread the Goals around a bit. Top scorer in the league is Luke Norris on 7, then Carl Piergianni on 6, Jamie Reid and Danny Rose both on 5, Daniel Sweeney on 4, Jake Reeves on 3, Alex Gilbey on 2 and Max Clarke and Kane Smith both on 1. Lopking through the player profiles they don't seem to have a lot of height in the side, only F Daniel Sweeney is over 6 ft (6ft 3ins to be precise).
They signed a few in the transfer window, two GKs - Wales under 21 Adam Przybeck and a loan for Reading's Jokkul Andressen. They also borrowed Coventry City's LB Josh Reid and Norwich City's American defender Johnathon Tomkinson. Finally they also signed Forest Green's F Josh March (6 goals in 33 apps this season).
It all looks impressive but I imagine that they will be looking at County and thinking something similar - and it's about time they lose another road game so, fingers crossed as ever, I'm going for a win.

Superb piece as always, AH. Your research for these really is top drawer, and the work you put in to write these up really is appreciated, mate.

They have just signed another GK as Jökull Andrésson suffered an arm injury in their last match. Slavin is an emergency loan -
Forster-Caskey (ex Brighton and Charlton (he played against us in the Cup match) will be one to watch - I just hope the referee steps in and stops any nonsense.
Pre-match Evans complaining about referees... a common thread...

Hopefully, as the ref is from Scotland and a veteran of Old Firm games, someone will tell him that the unpleasant Mr Evans is a Celtic fan.

Doing well so far. Got to keep it up for the second half, though. If we don't go up this season, we'll do well to keep hold of Collar. What a player.

Amen, as ever I want a second but there's no reason to fear Stevenage: respect them yes of course, but no need to fear.

Good first half news. Plenty of possession according to the BBC stats. Not much penalty box action at either end I presume.
