Another two-day break before our next match, and, indeed, the the next year - when we head East to the league ground that stands closest to the sea.
A chance, too, to avenge a pair of defeats, home and away, to the 'Mariners' in 2022.
So, let's go fishing! Post it all here...

They will be smarting from a 4-1 drubbing at home to Salford last night.
Hope we don't get the backlash from that. Both teams are playing totally differently to early season form. A close game expected though. Need to build on our confidence that is growing every game.

I won't be making a prediction here, but if we play as well as we know we can then we've got a great chance of getting the win.

Let’s hope we keep eleven on the pitch this time. Will greatly improve our chances! Up the Hatters

As long as we don't get battered. Hopefully we'll be saying tartar to Cleethorpes with a win under our belts, although I'll happily take the draw right now. 1 isn't Omega tally by any means, but I'd much prefer 3!

Would certainly be good to get three points at their plaice! Arf Ah trust you to chip in with a pun Meanwhile, who are Grimsby? Well so far this season they appear to be a better side on the road than at home (H W 2 D 5 L4 F 12 A 15 vs W 5 D 1 L 5 F 13 A 12). The H Ws are Crawley Town in Oct 3-0, Tranmere 2-1 in Dec; the Ds are Northampton Town 1-1, Sutton Utd 0-0, Gillingham 1-1, Bradford 0-0, Stevenage 1-1; the Ls are Swindon 1-2, Carlisle 1-2, Doncaster 1-3, Salford City 1-4. Which is a very mixed bag. Their recent form is also poor - the Tranmere win is the only win in the last 9 League games since they beat County A 1-3 in Oct. They have just the 2 draws (Stevenage above plus Bradford H 0-0) and 6 defeats (Barrow A 1-0, Hartlepool A 2-1, Doncaster above, Wimbledon A 1-0, Harrogate Town A 3-2 and Salford City above) in the same period. So they seem to have trouble keeping clean sheets and their goalscoring seems limited to 1 or 2. Grimsby's top scorers are F Harry Clifton with 6, then MF Gavan Holahan and 6 foot 2 F Ryan Taylor with 3 and D Niall Mayer with 2. There are a total of 10 on 1 goal apiece (including John McAtee who seemed to be a bit of a talisman for them last season). Which suggests that they are a fairly limited scoring threat and also perhaps a side that has been unsettled by injuries. Which suggests, to my intuition, a Banana skin or two, or maybe that County may be having a New Year's Day feast. Hmmm, fingers crossed.....

I take it this one won't be available to stream in the UK as it's a weekend game, or does a New year's Day game come under the Bank Holiday category and is therefore at the discretion of the home club?

Wow, they’re really not expecting much from the game. Only one post in four pages thought they’d get even a point!

Having just got on here to see the result with a headache that can only be described as f***ing biblical, I'm glad I didn't wake up earlier!
