As we've seen in the Champions League, that ref is a disaster zone. There seemed to be more cards in last night's game than Sam the bellhop!

Why was Messi not booked for that deliberate handball? 15 yellow - shocking refereeing for this level.

We've been shite, but it looks like we're being f***ed over by the officials here.

Ah well, didn't think we had enough to win it if I'm honest, so better to go out now than get screwed in the final.
As for Mbappe, I stick by what I said and I'll go as far as saying that he's almost as overrated as Neymar.
He's a one trick pony that relies on his explosive pace, plus he's a massive cheat just like Neymar and he was totally sussed out today.
Unlucky England, but Harry Kane let his country down tonight - that was a piss-poor penalty and he bottled it when it really mattered.
I just want Messi to get his world cup win now.
Come on, the Argies!

Both the refereeing in the Holland and England games was inconsistent and a disgrace. What can you say about VAR. Early on in the tournament a push in the box was a penalty. However for long periods in the first half we did nothing. The exception was Saka.
Griezmann was a disgrace for the sly fouls all match. Feel for Kane he should have scored but why didn't another player step up to take it, one who isn't a team mate. Conclusion - on possible penalties we were robbed.
I think France will win this once again.

The reluctance of last night's officials to give us anything at all was never more apparent than when Mount was barged over in their box.. It was a stone wall penalty, yet it took the VAR team an age and then a referral back to the referee to go to the screen to make the final decision. It looked to me as though they were doing their level best to find something in the incident that gave them the slightest opportunity to say no penalty. Absolute farce.

Although I've lost pretty much all interest in this tournament, I have to say that I'd like to see Messi get his hands on the trophy now, but not because we were beaten by France.
Nobody has a divine right to winning the World Cup, it has to be earned, but there's been no talent more worthy of winning it than that of Lionel Messi, in any era of the game - so for that reason I'd like to see him leading Argentina to World Cup victory.
I still think that - warts and all - Diego Maradona is the greatest player to ever kick a regulation size 5 bag of wind, but the atmosphere Messi has helped create among the fans at this World Cup suggests to me that he's every bit as inspirational.

Agreed, Gazz. And it would settle for once and for all the perennial, and frankly quite wearisome, 'GOAT' debate involving CR7.

I have a feeling that this might just be a wind-up, Ceef. Have a look at the other shirts they have in their 'shop' - the 'new era' super league shirts. They may be for sale, but I think these have been done to take the piss.
