Mbappe on fire for France. If we beat Senegal we'll have to silence him.

I fancy England to come through 2-1 but it might need extra time.

He's got blistering pace but that's the only thing that elevates him, plus Poland are shite. People are comparing him with R9 which is an absolute bloody joke, he's nowhere near that level. Thierry Henry was a better player and he was no Ronaldo either. He's an excellent player, but up there with Messi and R9? Is he f***.

Get in, England. Rode the early storm then took control.
Excellent performance!

Well done, England. One of the most stress-free knockout-stage matches I can ever remember! Some really good team goals tonight, too.

Cheers, Maccy, that's really appreciated, mate.
Bellingham is an absolute gem, what a player.

Mbappe is an outstanding player but the rest of the French team are good rather than very good.
Worth noting that all of our front 5 either scored or had an assist last night. We have scored more goals than anyone else (8 different scorers) and conceded fewer than any other team, all with not a single yellow card which underlines the discipline being shown. The subs bench is crammed with talent which means that 'experts' will always criticise Southgate's team selection but he seems to properly understand tournament football. This campaign is very similar to the Euros even down to the 0-0 in the second group game.
Clearly, England will have to play well to win on Saturday but they have every chance if they can ignore the people with an agenda who will keep chipping away.

What worries me are the stupid mistakes the defence make, wayward passes, it takes us half the first half to get going. Need to cut this out or we will be punished. Great result against Senegal. We should be confident against France but give them respect. As usual the press will do their best to heap loads of pressure on our team, and hopefully they are well prepared mentally. Go one goal down and can we find a way back.

Yes, we must be aware of complacency and national fervour. On paper the group qualification was always obtainable and a last 16 win on the cards as long as we missed Netherlands. So I expected nothing less. The next step is huge.
Mbappe's 2 finishes over the weekend were well struck and showed some guile. We need to starve him of the ball. Stones and Maguire always look like they have a mistake in their locker though. I'm sure the French will press them high.
England looked better once Kane started to drop deep to receive the ball, left a great gap that Sengal didn't plug ahead of him giving Bellingham, Foden and Saka (also Henderson !) the space to attack the back line.
France are a few players missing so not quite the force they would have been. Win this one and the overall win could be on. Just Spain or Portugal to knock over then !

Astonishing stuff in the Nederlands v Argentina match, going into extra time when it all looked lost for the Dutch.
Fantastically worked free-kick to level it right at the death.

Argentina win on penalties, and I think they're going to go on to win it.
I hope I'm wrong.

As we've seen in the Champions League, that ref is a disaster zone.
