Athletics, Boxing, Football, Golf, Cricket, Darts, Rugby, F1, Snooker, Women's Beach Volleyball , Tennis, Ice Hockey...... The list is endless. However, if you had to choose (and you do, 'cos otherwise, the thread's a waste of time), which one is your favourite to watch and why?

Darts.
Even the best players can leave their best Tungsten backstage and bring a bag of nails to the oche instead, and that's what makes it such a great sport to watch. A sport that anyone can play, where a couple of millimetres can mean the difference between success and failure, and when you've just watched a brilliant game where Taylor and Lewis chuck 32 180s between them you don't have to go out of the house to throw a few arrows yourself.
There's no other sport like it.

I make no apology whatsoever for posting this again, mind blowing, and George Noble was the perfect caller for the game, he was in superb voice throughout!:

Don't forget the boat race. Oxford to win even though they have a lighter weight team Sheffield half marathon was cancelled today when the drinks supplier failed to deliver.
Tennis singles as its always a battle of technique stamina fitness and mental grit and determination. We have some good youngsters coming through.
Women's beach volleyball for obvious reasons... Curling is a good watch as well .

Ice Hockey;
A real sport played by real men! Try diving on the ice and you'll be absolutely battered on your next shift!
Thoroughly entertaining throughout!
Not a huge fan of darts but I agree it's brilliant how talented these guys are and how accessible it is!

Got to agree with you there, Fudge. Ice hockey is a fantastic sport to watch.
If I had to pick one (which I do), then it would be American Football, but only extended highlights. Watching it live has too many ad breaks and breaks in play. But when they do actually play, it's amazing to watch. Skill, power, finesse, tactics, drama - it's got it all.

I always thought I could get into NFL but it's never worked, my main stumbling point is the fact that a single game last like 4 hours and in this time there is on average 8 minutes of actual play, when they're actually doing something it's brilliant but 3:52 is a bit long for me unfortunately!
Have you ever tried Canadian Football Eppy? Not as good players and the rules are ever so slightly different but because of the lack of commercialism in the sport there are far less as breaks and the average play time rises from 8 minutes to 17 which still isn't great but a damn site better than what you'd get in NFL

A fair point on the NFL, Fudge. It's why I added the caveat of watching highights rather than watching a full game live. It is one of the sports where I do like the replays as it shows you all the tactics and details behind the plays.
I've not taken much interst in Canadian Football and didn't know they had different rules, but I'll definitely check it out. The challenge will be finding some where that shows it.

Well I can find you online links to the games, not sure about highlights though, I follow the BC Lions, they sometimes put highlights on youtube
