So we're currently sat in the waiting room of the maternity ward at Leighton Hospital in Crewe opposite a heavily pregnant girl of no more than 16, her pre-puberty boyfriend and her mother.
How does a girl get into that situation? Can we blame the parents? In this case, probably yes.
The mother is reading a magazine and has just announced to her young daughter "look, there's Prince William and Kate. Is that a baby with them? Have they had a baby? Yes look, it looks like a boy I think."
Sweet Jesus.

Bless them Sandy.
I blame the teachers for their crass ignorance of current affairs.

If parents don't know where their 16-year old daughter is in this day and age, then they're a pair of useless, lazy bastards. Parents should teach respect, then when their kids go to school the teachers have a decent foundation to build on, there is a distinct lack of that these days. There are some great teachers out there, also some poor, but they can only do so much in my opinion.
The school day starts and ends at home, the parents should shoulder the ultimate responsibility/blame. If the kid brings homework home, the parents should check they have some to do and then supervise them doing it. If they don't bring any home, the parents should make it their business to know why.

I was still suffering puberty watching County get relegated and playing Grand Theft Auto when I was 16, not much has changed!

In fairness to the kids, and they were just that, they seemed very grounded and mature about the whole thing and the lad was at least taking responsibility rather than legging it and seemed to want to be involved in everything.
I'm not for one second advocating teenage pregnancy, but I was far more impressed by them than her mother.
