Good to see MSH getting some game time to help get up-to-speed with games coming thick and fast. Excellent subs to keep Bennett and Rooney safe from risk of injury, keep pace on the pitch, secure midfield and, as the players tire and balls go higher, Thomas more inside might get some flicks etc. Hey, I think we might even manage to get an academy lad on!

Congrats, JG and the boys! After the league game I had ended by saying we were 5 goals better than them and everyone posting on the thread had pointed out how un-JG the approach was - fouling throughout.
While a 4-4-2 is not a shape we associate with JG at all, he used it to completely out-think the opponent manager. Overall the game had the feel as if some sort of words had been said between staff and players, reminiscent of the post-Nuneaton game into Chorley in the Championship season when a real negative shunted us into a positive place.
While I don't expect this to be the start of 4-4-2, I do think it takes great courage for manager who uses various shapes to make 4 lines to go with it. I also think, to a man, the players stood up and made a difference across every position. And this is why I picked out Hogan because he, for me, summed it up - can't recall him fouling, did his role really well and supported those around him. Good, shared leadership tonight all round.
And a bit of a dream scenario to be able to get a young lad on to the pitch for the last minutes. The players each contributed to making that lad's night by putting the game out of sight.
Well done, team!

Given the delay with the decision, do we think the lino thought Denton elbowed it over and then the ref kinda just went along with it? Seemed very bizarre! Denton definitely the guilty party there.

Very pleased with that win. I was worried when the team was announced. Good team effort to get the win.
When was the last time we had 2 penalties in a match?
Good streaming but can someone turn up the volume on Chris Ridgeways mike so he and JK are at the same level. Thanks

When was the last time we had 2 penalties in a match? Happy to be corrected on this, but the last occasion I can remember was just under five years ago at Corby. Jonny Margetts netted a pair of spot-kicks in what was also a 4-0 win.
