This, for me anyway, is Rusk's best interview since he came to the club. He's more assertive and informative here, with less of the clichés and platitudes that used to really irritate me.
He spoke well.

Nice to have birdsong as the backing track too! Here's our captain's thoughts:

As soon as JK started making excuses for Simon Rusk not making any changes, I switched off.
I refuse to listen to that kind of state radio bullshit.
Defensively, Simon Rusk is right and has it pretty much spot on, so I'll give him that, but when he says 'we want to win every game, but so does our opponent', that's just lesson 101 in stating the bleeding obvious - drop that nonsense, Simon, as it just doesn't wash.
I know he's hardly going to come out and say: 'Sorry, Jon, but I just didn't have a clue what to do', but by the same token, when it's raining, I don't need to be told to look up at the sky.

No mention whatsoever of Hinchliffe's heroics at all. Correct me if I am wrong.
Good that we are concentrating on the next game and not the run.
Cant understand why our top scorer is on the bench.

Thanks, H, but no thanks.
I'd sooner have hot needles shoved into my eyeballs and flesh eating Ants poured into my ears.

In short:
did enough to nick it with our chances created, wasn't to be
he now knows what the Club means to the supporters, gutted for supporters
will use the disappointment to drive the players on next season
credit to Hartlepool
he doesn't see the short break before starting again next season as a bad thing
opportunity for him to have his own pre-season and priorities for the squad to grow
------
Credit to SR for not accepting the premise of the questions about a 'short break' or 'difficult next season with Woking going FT' as excuses for next season, which the questions seemed to set him up for.
----
Hogan is expecting twins - I wish them the most wonderful life ahead!

he now knows what the Club means to the supporters Is he f***ing serious? opportunity for him to have his own pre-season He took on the club in a strong position, with a strong squad and strong backing from the owner - that's no excuse. Is he? Surely Channel 5 will be interested in covering THAT story - I wonder if the club will be selling tickets to the birth?!
