Agreed, Ceefs - all the best to Alty. The local rivals it's ok to like - and, goodness knows, it would be nice to have one short trip next term (assuming Macc don't get thrown out of League Two)! And, having worked down there for a couple of years Weymouth to come up too which will give me the perfect opportunity to visit and have something to eat at a very nice Italian on the seafront and consume large amounts of alcoholic beverage with former work colleagues. Although after last time I should probably avoid the cider bar by the harbour . Weymouth win on penalties. You will be dining at that Italian restaurant NYE. It will be another long trip but preferable to Dartford.

Excellent, not that I really need an excuse tbh. I try and get down every year and would have visited already but for covid-19. Weymouth's ground is quite good actually, it's a legacy of a previous owner who had ambitions to take them into the league before running out of cash/interest. I used to alternate between them and Dorchester Town when I was down there for midweek games.

Me too, matey. On another matter - is it just me, or did anyone else not realise that the FA Cup Final is this afternoon/evening?!

On another matter - is it just me, or did anyone else not realise that the FA Cup Final is this afternoon/evening?! Me! A mate just texted me about it around ten minutes ago, which was genuinely the first time I knew it was being played today - I blame United. Gone are the days of Mum going out shopping, Dad getting in the Watneys party seven and a carrier bag full of salt and shake crisps, then me and my mates going out onto the nearest stretch of grass at full-time to replicate the final. When I was growing up, the FA Cup was THE event on the football calendar.

...and back then, it didn't matter whether you cared about the teams or not, you could still get into some classics, like the replay of city v spurs, or spurs v coventry.
now, i really couldn't give a toss. it's kids in the teams until the semi-finals, and i still crave the semis being at villa park or old trafford rather than already having been to wembley if you reach the final.

Congrats to Alty, the right result and firmly putting last season's disappointment behind them!
