I've just read an open-letter to the Government wrote by Marcus Rashford, it's highly encouraging to see a young Premier League footballer who hasn't changed because of the money and fame, he's clearly got a good head on him and it's a truly sad state of affairs when a 22 year old lad has to be telling the government what they're doing is wrong!
Well done, Marcus!

Brilliant stuff - deserves to be Footballer of the Year for that. I cast my vote, as a Football Writer, this week... Thanks for sharing, Fudgie.

Got the kind of level head and open heart you wish more members of society in general had, but he especially stands out in the field of footballer public standards. Bravo

It’s really refreshing to see a young footballer conduct himself with such maturity and level-headedness. A fantastic role model.

And after he'd rejected it his official spokesman said: “The PM understands the issues facing families across the UK...." at which point you know that Johnson is suffering from yet more oral flatulence. Every time the gobsh*te opens his idiot trap, more verbal diarrhoea slips out because hey, this privileged, pampered, Eton educated millionaire man-of-the-people PM really knows all about going hungry, living on benefits, choosing between paying the rent or eating. What a tw@!

Fully marks to the young man who has placed his money where his mouth is.
Boris will probably find another fridge to hid in after that !

Buoyed no doubt by the support he's received for his message Rashford has tweeted trying to imagine being so poor that you have your water turned off due to non-payment of the bill. Factually he is incorrect, the law had been amended to prevent water companies from doing that for very obvious reasons. Despite the fact that I am now reasonably comfortable I have been made redundant on more than one occasion so I can empathise with people with decisions to make about payment of bills or eating, thanks in no small measure to the "reforms" made by the odious Duncan-Smith, egged on by his wretched party who have deliberately impoverished people needing social security from the state.
What I can't imagine is the sheer pettiness of mind required or the distance one must have to be up one's own arsehole, to so spectacularly miss both the point and national mood to tweet about it, as the terminally gormless Government Minister Therese Coffey did this morning. The Tory Party, rightly (about the only thing she ever did get right) described by May as the nasty party, bringing crass, institutionalised stupidity to a constituency near you.
As an aside, Rashford sounds like just the kind of young player JG would sign, I wonder if he could be persuaded.....

I could seriously justify giving him England captaincy for this, if that doesn't embody what the average Englishman should represent, nothing does!
