1. In the Final of Euro 2000, who scored the Golden Goal to clinch the trophy?
David Trezeguet scored the goal that won the Euro's for France.
2. NOT including the 2021 Pan-European tournament, which 6 countries have shared a tournament?
Belgium and the Netherlands in 2000, Austria and Switzerland in 2008 and Poland and Ukraine in 2012.
3. Denmark's successful tournament in 1992 was even more of a shock as the Danes didn't actually qualify for the tournament originally, whose spot did they take?
Yugoslavia had initially qualified but were forced to withdraw from the tournament following the break-up of the country and internal warfare.
4. Who won the first ever Euros back in 1960?
The Soviet Union beat Yugoslavia 2-1 in Paris to become the first ever team to win the competition.
5. Can you name both countries to have reached the final but never won the cup?
Yugoslavia have been Runners-Up twice, losing 2-1 to the Soviet Union in France '60 and 2-0 to Italy in Italy '68.
Belgium were Runners-Up in their only final appearance, losing 2-1 to West Germany at Italy '80.
6. In the 1976 Final, which player scored a penalty so memorable, that the type of penalty would be named after him?
Antonín Panenka scored the fifth and final penalty in the shoot-out by boldly sending the 'keeper left and chipping the ball straight down the middle, which won the cup for Czechoslovakia.
7. England only narrowly qualified for Euro 2000, who did they beat in the Play-Offs and by what aggregate score?
They beat the Auld Enemy, Scotland, 2-1 on aggregate with the Three Lions winning 2-0 at Hampden Park before suffering a surprise 1-0 defeat at Wembley, though the Tartan Army couldn't do enough to get the second goal and England qualified.
8. Despite Wales qualifying with relative ease, their campaign got off to a nervy start as they fell behind and only managed a 2-1 win over which European minnow?
Andorra took the lead against the Dragons after just 6 minutes before Gareth Bale equalised for the Welsh and just as it was looking like the Andorrans might take a famous point, Bale struck again with less than 10 minutes to play, a rare blip in an otherwise impressive qualification campaign for the Welsh.
9. In what year was the last tournament to feature a 3rd Place Play-Off held?
The 1980 tournament in Italy saw Czechoslovakia defeat the hosts 9-8 on penalties following a 1-1 draw in the tournaments final ever Bronze Medal match.
10. What was the first tournament to have 16 teams qualify?
Euro 1996 in England.
11. What is the name of the trophy awarded to the winning team?
Henri Delaunay Trophy named after the UEFA General Secretary who came up with the idea for the tournament but sadly died 5 years before it officially kicked off.
12. How many times has the host nation reached the final?
Five Times.
Spain '64 saw the hosts defeat the Soviet Union 2-1. Italy '68 saw the Azzuri finally beat Yugoslavia 2-0 needing a replay after a 1-1 draw, interestingly this was the only ever final to be replayed. France '84 saw the French win their first ever international silverware at the expense of neighbours, Spain, who they beat 2-0. Portugal '04 was the first tournament in which the hosts lost the final, as they suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to ultimate underdogs, Greece. France '16 only the second hosts to lose a final, in a bizarre twist of fate, Les Bleus actually lost 1-0 to the only other losing hosts, Portugal!
13. Which 2 players are ranked joint 1st for the most goals in European Championship history?
France's Michel Platini and Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo both sit on 9 goals at the Euros, though just one strike for Ronaldo at Euro 2021 will see him claim sole ownership of the number 1 spot.
14. Who is the highest England goalscorer at European Championships?
Alan Shearer sits in 2nd place behind Ronaldo and Platini with 7 Euro goals for England.
15. In what year was England's tournament debut?
England first made the finals at Italy '68 ultimately adding a Bronze medal to their World Cup winners medals from 2 years prior.
So as the only contestant this week, Maccy wins by default but any competition would have had to have been literally perfect to beat him as he scores an incredible 14/15!
The updated table is now as follows....
Duds - 0 Gazz - 20 Maccy - 68

It's between Football at the Olympics, the England National team, Women's Football, the UEFA Europa League or English Stadiums.
Any preferences will of course be honoured and if no real preference it will come down to me randomly picking one!
It'll be posted later tonight.
Apologies for the late marking of last weeks quiz by the way, Maccy! I was incredibly busy and once it got to Wednesday it felt more appropriate to just do one in, one out today!

Sorry for missing this one, Fudgie. It's been a very busy week this week in work, I've been training all week so I really didn't get to view much of the forum, which was just the odd quick skim over when I could get chance.
