One of my first footballing heroes on the pitch. And, by all accounts, the nicest of gents off it.

He and Ken Mulhearn had very similar styles. Modelled my early game on theirs (not quite as successfully).
Great reflexes and agility. It's a sad but inevitable sign of our age when our footballing "heroes" pass away.
