Thought I would keep the hockey fans up to date with the movements on this big day in the NHL world. This is like deadline day for the football but better IMO
First trades of the day are:
Tampa Bay Lightning gives up captain Martin St Louis in return for New York Rangers Captain Ryan Callahan 2015 1st Round Pick 2014 2nd Round Pick. This is a big move as both teams trade their captains and both are big players in the franchise's.
Second trade of the day is that Ottawa Senators give up their 2014 5th round pick and 2015 3rd round pick for Edmonton Oilers forward Ales Hemsky. Who coincidently scored two goals in last nights game between the two. Unfortunately Hemsky's production has been on the decline since his 77 point season in 2005-06 season but had a good Olympics for the Czech Republic scoring 3 goals and an assist in 5 games. He is an UFA in the summer.
