So, in essence, nobody is handing over their shares, there are two interested parties, he's had to make difficult decisions, and he refuses to accept any of the blame for the Kalezic appointment and subsequent relegation. The only thing I learned from the answers given is that Spencer Fearn has been at EP recently, he his fully aware that we already knew everything else that he answered. Many thanks for posting this, binbag, but I just can't take the guy seriously. He's all for soaking up the 'credit' for things like Dicko coming back, and shoehorning his way into 'new signing' photo opportunities, yet he just won't accept that he's failed at anything he's done since he came to the club. The guy is a basket case full of sh*t & broken biscuits, all wrapped up in a blanket of his own self importance. Those answers change nothing with regards to my opinion of him, but please keep the updates coming, mate, excellent stuff.

... oh, and in defence of his fabled 'vision' document, he's now claiming that he has shelved it because he didn't know the full extent of the state of the club before he got to work? Surely he can't be suggesting that someone at the club sold him a pup?

Two local groups interested now? Nothing mentioned about the Chinese interest? No loans written off, now there's a surprise! A 'Vision document' should still have been written up and amended as his tenure progressed. Clearly, he's here to stay, or at least he thinks he is. Desperate for cash flow monies now, hence the raising again of season ticket sales for next season. A Chair could be appointed now, but either of the local groups looking to invest may put their candidate forward
I suppose it's an update, but for me, it's just another episode of the long running soap opera "Hardcastle Road"

he's had a tough job. unpopular cuts needed to be made - we couldn't keep spending like we had done or we would have gone bust. even if we'd been merely mediocre on the pitch in his first ten months at the club he'd have probably have been unpopular with some because of the cuts.
he's had a tough job, but he's got so many headline things wrong (or been the face of many headline things which went wrong) that even if he'd not been making the cuts such as the head groundsman role, most of us would still have thought he was a f***ing cock. doesn't matter whether it was him or a committee: the handling of jim's departure. the appointment of kalezic. the patronising press conference when addressing kalezic's lack of non-league experience. the non-recall loanees to rival clubs. the relegation to our lowest ever level while not putting his hands up for some of the above actions. going part time. hell of a first six months that, ryan. then add to that being in the relegation positions in the new season at our lowest ever level...
there are only two other clubs in this league who's average scrapes over the thousand mark. look at us, and look at some of the dog and duck uniteds we're playing. there are f***ing works teams in this league, literally. there was a big stinking legacy of stuff that didn't happen on his watch, but he seems to shy away from the big stinking legacy of stuff that did.

thanks for the link binbag. the slightly hostile tone of this thread is in no way a reflection of the work the co-op is doing, or a criticism of the interview with FCR being secured...just of his bland answers and the dropping of the shoulders to avoid some big issues, such as the appointment of six week kalezic.

No problem, and in this case it's clear that the hostility isn't toward the Co-op. And to be fair, the other boards are having the same reactions - which I think is good. It's these sorts of questions we need to be asking the CEO (whoever it is) of our club - getting answers in this manner creates an environment for more questioning. If people want to ask questions they can submit them to us and we'll ask them, plus asking our own. It can only lead to transparency in the long run I think, and hopefully a better run club. This is a top level view by the way - I haven't got my head in the clouds.

An outstanding post, ars. Spot on. There is no doubt that County was a dog's dinner when McKn*ght was appointed and it was a tough job. It is clear that difficult and unpopular decisions and cuts had to be made. But it's not just what you do, but how you do it. McKn*ght likes to think of himself as the go-getting CEO who is prepared to make the difficult decisions where other wouldn't. Bobbins! He is a classic Teflon Man. He takes the credit where it is not due and hides behind a 'committee' when he cocks up. The appointment of Kalzic and the signing of Battersby are two obvious examples: He is not the first (and won't be the last) CEO to make a poor appointment to Manager. He made a bad decision, but it's what happened next where he went seriously wrong. Instead of holding his hands up and saying 'I made a bad call', he blames it on a 'committee'. He won't stand up and be counted. If he'd have done that then, as fans, we accept that these things sometimes happen. You live and learn and move on. But he has made it ten times worse - and we won't let it go! Likewise with Battersby. What did he have to do with it? (except negotiating the contract at the end) It was Alan and the teams hard work in finding him, ensuring his attitude, style of play and quality was right for the team. It should be Alan on the photo's not McKn*ght. The problem with the Teflon Man is that good people don't want to work for them. Their life is a continual thankless task. It's a bit like parents at Christmas. You do all the hard work and then some fat bloke with a beard takes all the credit!* The interview from binbag was very informative. It did not inform us regarding what McKn*ght is doing or intends to do, but confirmed what a poor imitation of a politician he is. Give him credit - he's mastered the art of the non-answer! The tone of the interview felt like he was just going through the motions (pardon the pun). It didn't sound like he genuinely wanted to engage with the fans. Yes, it was a difficult job, but he has made it even harder by making a string of bad decisions, alienating the fans, and forcing talented people who love County to leave. Still, we've got to start somewhere and I take my hat off to you, binbag, for trying to do something to get us out of this mess. *This is a joke. We all know that Father Christmas exists, don't we kids.

It's just a shame that The Lunatics have taken over the Asylum, though. If anyone has any info regarding the (rumoured to be dead in the water) SK offer, then please tell us. Don't worry about confidentiality, Our Lips Are Sealed. Thing is though, why is it that when things are going well financially, The Telephone Always Rings with offers for investment, but when we really need them we always end up Waiting for that call that never comes?
Will we ever see a light at the end of this tunnel? Because it ain't exactly the Tunnel Of Love right now.
