cheers gazz. the still on the embedded link...well the main stand looks like a farm building...but the place is in my soul. i rarely resist the opportunity to state how important edgeley park is to me, and was to me then too; leaning on the popside wall as close to the halfway line as we could get.

What a fantastic finisher Preecey was, class act. God, I miss those days.

Excellent footage, Gazza - thanks for sharing. I actually spotted myself, standing, rather unfamiliarly, at the back of the Railway End for the Swansea match. (The Pop Side was closed for its seating-upgrade that Autumn.) I remember at the time, on seeing that Big Kev had stepped up to take his first County penalty, being terrified of being struck by a wild spot-kick. No need, in the event, to have worried, of course! And Preecey's volley a little later was an absolute gem.

And Preecey's volley a little later was an absolute gem. I was on the old Cheadle End steps that day against Swansea, and I remember the collective hush when Kev stepped up for the penalty, we needn't have worried though! I noticed John Cornforth in the video, I'll never forgive him for finishing Brian McCord's career, nasty piece of work.

Ok, the narrator is the Troy McClure of England who we remember from such Health and Safety videos as 'Don't put your face in that fan', and 'Careful, that machine will have your hand off', but this is a brilliant trip back in time!

That is an absolutely superb video Gazza! Cheers for posting! At only 24 I don't have much memory of the Wembley years!

County 5 Scunthorpe 0 - 1990/91
And one of Jim's best games for County, County 2 Brentford 1. Had Dean Holdsworth in his back pocket, and still had time to pop up with the equaliser, and then came one of the best goal mentals I can remember when Kev nodded the winner!

More great memories there.... and a wonderful Stopfordian-Brazilian commentary to accompany Kev's winner! Cheers, gazza.
The Brentford game remains one of the best that I have ever seen at EP. The visitors were riding high at the top of the League at the time, and yet County absolutely dominated proceedings that afternoon. I well remember celebrating on the Pop Side when Kev headed home with a minute to go. Were you, or any other Heaveners standing/pogo-ing there as well?!

"wembley arena, where cher had been appearing this week, and further round, wembley exhibition centre today having an amiga show"
dreadful! but then keith coates takes over and it's a more familiar, comfortable, county kind of dreadful! watched the whole thing, which was kind of depressing, but at least it had a (temporarily) happy ending...
gazz and i have often waxed lyrical on here about the brentford goal mental. always worth a watch to relive the memories! can't see it on the video, but it was properly boiling along the pop side! cheers for posting. don't remember it being played during a blackout though!

Were you, or any other Heaveners standing/pogo-ing there as well?! managed to make my brother's mouth bleed in the turmoil, and i'm not normally a particularly violent celebrator either!
