I know, I've got admit they played well and we were lucky in parts, that seemed a clear cut penalty in the first half and they certainly could have snook off with all 3 points, its just frustrating. My next match is Guiseley away - I've booked the Wednesday off work as hopefully I'll be celebrating.

celebrating it being called off, probably...
i lugged round a bag containing scarf, gloves, an extra top and a hoodie all day, and then used none of them...it wasn't quite mild, but it was nowhere near the blue extremities of the vauxhall motors game.
apart from the probably valid penalty shout, i thought we bossed most of the first half. two up and made other chances as well. i felt like the crucial thing was that we didn't keep the two goal...hmm...i hesitate calling a two goal lead a 'cushion' when it's county......err...gap between the sides for very long. then barrow were easily the better side in the second half.
plenty of industry, not a massive abundance of skill from either side. disappointed to see kyle jacobs limping off - thought they were a little bit dirty and that was the worst tackle of the lot, with kyle having gone past a man and advancing to the edge of the area. can't argue with them getting a draw on their second half performance though. a bit annoying, but then there is the context of their seven consecutive away victories before tonight. it's always easier making the decision to travel when you're on a winning run, but they probably brought 170 or 180 and that's pretty good from the outer hebrides on a tuesday night.
thought ormson was decent tonight. swept up pretty well and came and punched several times through a crowd of players. most of the rest just worked hard without particularly distinguising themselves for me though.

Ah, well - onwards and southwards to Gloucestershire. Tonight's programme reports ticket prices of £21 for watching Gloucester at Cheltenham, which, presumably, is meant as a joke. At least, I HOPE it's a joke... Not so much a joke as a typo I think Maccy. £12 according to their website!

As the self-imposed exile for most of the non-league period, I can see things (I hope) with fresh eyes. I thought the performance was pretty good. The team do want to play football as it should be played, in other words passing on on the deck. Certainly, until Barrow pulled one back, the boys were passing well, the shape was good and cover on the whole worked. Barrow on the other hand very much kick and rush with a lot of aerial balls going all over the place. But, when Barrow got the first goal, the balance changed. Barrow started to play like County were. Problem was that County were making too many schoolboy errors with touch and control. Mind you MHH did point out to me that most of the team WERE schoolboys......LOL The goals. Well both our goals were well made from the halfway line, with good speed and teamwork. Their goals were from mistakes on our part. Concentration perhaps? Don't know, but both were soft with glaring holes in our defence. Penalties. Well in the first half Barrow should have had a penalty. Second half, there were very valid claims for two in our favour. On the whole though it was probably a fair result, which is a bit of a pain when you are 2 nil up. MOM? Well it was spot on, Oates just showed that he is a cut above, being on loan from Barnsley, the league ability did shine through. He worked hard and was a handful for Barrow. Things to ponder. There is a good core to the squad. They do show signs of being good footballers. However they do need to work more on the technique. The first ball pass, the position on the field, knowing where not only where the ball is, but the opposition player and the space. Work on the control of the ball will help too. Only by learning and training will this come to fruition. But the signs are looking positive for a change. Finally, it was nice to see Sheridan subbed in the second half. Not only did he NOT score against us, but hopefully shut up the chip-eater Newton...... He did get a nice reception on departure though.

Good - a relief. Thanks, bristol! Will you be popping up the M5 for this one, matey?! Well, the weather forecast looks good, it's an easy train ride (allowing beer), I have been to Cheltenham for both League 2 and League 1 games in the past so shouldn't get lost, haven't seen a game since 0-0 at Newport last season and the missus said yes so....... I guess it would be rude not to

Good to see Oates score last night and the cross to Howard to head home at Leamington. Oates worked hard chasing everything down.
Jacobs - we missed him after that dire tackle. We also missed him at Leamington. He should be signed up if he isn't already. He is one of the few creative players.
First half we played well chasing down everything giving them less time on the ball. Second half a different story.
Where is Dennis? Where is Washburn?
I blame the pitch for the slip ups for their goals ; well gotta blame something ;.
fair result just annoying that we let the 2-0 go.

The only thing I can add to the whole picture of last night is that I thought a lot of the game changed after the diabolical foul on Jacobs, we seemed to be less confident after that (or was it that it was just after their 1st goal that we got jittery?) Overall though much better than against Leamington Good to catch up with Offy, Fudge, Macc and Morissey and I look forward to catching up with people at Solihull and Worcester

Think a return to full time training would help & general fitness would improve. IMHO this part time training is doing us no good, apart from money wise and travelling to games after a day at work and playing must be knackering...

It can't be doing Fagbola any favours, which is why we probably should go easy on him.
