In our NLN championship winning season, then 21-year-old Frank scored 16 (10 in the league) and got 5 assists, and here at CH we named him MotM 3 times with a further 4 split nominations.
This season he's contributed 5 league goals with an assist thrown in. His goals included getting us back into the game straight after the break at home to Barrow, THAT wonder goal winner at Dover and the last minute winner at Barnet.
I wish him every success.

Absolutely agree with all the posts wishing him well.
Good luck, Frank!

Looks like a good buy, and obviously one who will be part of ongoing development of the team (2.5 year contract)

There may be more to this than meets the eye - and in Jim we trust, and all that - but it seems a curious decision to loan Garratt out, after he had earned an extension to his time with us.
He has had one poor showing - against Dorking at EP - but his arrival to take up a problem position had previously coincided with an upsurge in our fortunes.
I have seen nothing as yet in Clarke to suggest that he makes things better in the left-back department. Quite the opposite, in fact...

I think that any transfer activity prior to the takeover can be reasonably ignored. I think Garratt is probably a victim of circumstance. Had we not been taken over then he would have had a role to play in a squad whose personnel was dictated by a limited budget. In light of the new circumstances I think we'll see very few of the current squad retained for next season as full-time pro's and while I tend to agree that he has looked a little shaky on occasion I'm not surprised at Clarke being given an extended chance to demonstrate his ability and JG has form for persevering with young players who he thinks have abilities that he can develop.

I get the point about giving youth a chance, Yorks - and hope that Clarke does come good. But on current evidence, this brings with it a risk if he doesn't - and we have no readily available back-up for a position that caused us difficulty earlier in the season.

Entirely agree but I suppose it depends on how we define the risk. My own view is that whilst promotion via the play-offs this season would be great I think that there is a world of a difference between assembling a team that would be capable of competing next season in League 2 and one that is capable of winning the National League, particularly when one considers the additional adjustment involved in transitioning from part-time to full-time. So yes, there is a risk that failing to resolve the problem left-back position may jeopardise the possibility of making the play-offs this season but for me, squeaking it via the play-offs is less important than planning a team that is capable of getting us back into the league next season and with minor adjustment, capable of competing as a league team the season after that.

Agreed, mate.
As soon as we put an end to this winless run and stop any further slippage downwards, I shall start to relax and look forward to next season! 👍
