The question we have to ask here is would Rice have jumped ship had England bombed out of the World Cup in the group stage and flown back to Blighty with another epic failure on their CV?

I think not. I think you are right Gazza plus the big bust up in the Irish camp with Roy Keane didn't help matters, morale in the Irish camp over the last year and a half has been terrible. |

England are banging in the goals at the moment, didn't see the game but confidence must be sky high with them.
The north scrapped a win and hopefully Ireland can get a win later, hopefully the first game at home under new management will mean a better performance than the last match.
Scotland got a win as well!
