Decent performance from England tonight, with Sterling's hat-trick being the highlight.
The future really does look bright under Southgate, so much so that I really do fancy us for the Euros.
Northern Ireland got off to a good start last night with a 2-0 win at home to Estonia.
Scotland had a disastrous start, however, losing 3-0 away to Kazakhstan.
Wales kick off their campaign on Sunday at home to Slovakia.

Scotland can add a new nation to their list of embarrassing defeats. The report into this one read like a thesaurus entry for rubbish. Kazakhstan 3-0 Scotland: Alex McLeish's side humiliated in Euro 2020 opener www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/47564455

That was a new low for Scotland, against a side not even in the top 100.
It's only their first game of the campaign, but with Russia and Belgium in the same group McLeish really has his work cut out now.

There is no hope if you're unlucky enough to be a Scotland supporter,at least Wales and northern Ireland have hope to qualify. England will walk the qualifiers, but I feel the pressure of doing well in a tournament could be there undoing. England did very well in the last world cup but there was no pressure,no one thought they would do anything and that worked to their advantage.
That saying England are playing good entertaining football and Southgate is the suprise package for me..he knows how to get the most out of his players, that was seriously lacking in previous England managers.

England did very well in the last world cup but there was no pressure,no one thought they would do anything and that worked to their advantage. at the start of the last set of qualifiers we had bent sam in charge as well! i don't think we'd have seen much of the younger players or a world cup semi-final under his patented negativeball. still find it ridiculous that he got a go in the hot seat - alan pardew wouldn't have been any dafter, and that's saying something.
agreed on the world cup - i just wanted them to be not embarassing, and i got a lot more. there will be a lot more pressure on the next go, but also more experience of tournament football, and young players hopefully continuing to improve. getting past the first knockout round is the minimum for me, and anything else a bonus - there's a second round (i don't like this 'round of 16' phrase, no matter how technically correct it is).

and for the jockos - i'd rather all the home nations get there, but when the sweaties humiliate themselves, it's piss funny, a bit like how i feel about man utd in europe...

I'll text his radio show tomorrow night for you mate 😉 But I'm in the Kilbane camp on the matter.Declan Rice kissed the badge, sang the anthem and also posted pro IRA texts on his Instagram and is now singing God save the Queen playing for England, bit mental if you ask me lol

to be honest, i'm kind of in the kilbane camp on the matter! young lad, yes; but rice hasn't handled it particularly fairly, or well. having said that, i'd rather england be the preferred choice where promising players have options - wan-bissaka looks to be another who may opt for england (congolese U20s cap, now england U20s and U21s caps).

It's just the globalization of the world we live in now..some players out there now can have two or three countries to pick from, you're gonna win some and lose some, that's the way it is.
