Afternoon from EP, everyone - for the second Saturday running. And an especially warm welcome to the reigning Southern League Premier Division Champions, Leamington, who will be looking to put the... erm, ‘Brakes’ on County’s recent mini-surge up the table.
Any club, incidentally, that produces its own bespoke beer - as Leamington do, in the form of their splendidly-named Brakes Fluid - is worthy of a special ‘Hats off’ greeting in our book!
Uniquely at this stage of the season, and rather spookily, our visitors have an identical League record, both home and away, to County. Hopefully, though, Lordy’s Lads will succeed in changing that this afternoon by following up their much-improved Non-League Day performance against Gainsborough with another dearly-needed victory. Here at County Heaven Towers, we are particularly delighted at Our Man Al’s perfect start to his latest spell of management in SK3, and would like to think that being Fan Sponsors of the Gaffer might just have helped a tad...
We also take the opportunity today to welcome a couple of new additions to the squad: a ‘goal-tender’, Ryan Jones, has returned across the Atlantic to replace Lewis King (to whom the best wishes of Heaveners go) on non-contract terms; and Danny Gosset is with us on a month’s loan from Oldham. The latter really impressed in midfield on his County debut last weekend, and he picks up extra points from yours truly for being Welsh and a fluent native speaker. Croeso, Danny - a phob lŵc yma!
And so, from the Language of Heaven to all other manner of shenanigans in Heaven. How goes it, Sandy bach?

Thanks Maccy – any excuse to shoehorn some Welsh in, eh?
In our last article (hopefully, you can remember as it was only a week ago), I announced that County Heaven had clocked up its 100,000th post. True, a large proportion of that was Gazza ranting about his i-phone, but even a cursory glance will reveal the wide spectrum and sheer calibre of fans we have amassed in our short life to date.
One thing has struck me though – in that same period, we have had over 500,000 visitors to our forum (for you non-mathematicians, that’s half a million). Admittedly, many of those will be regular posters just checking in, but there must be quite a few of you who visit but don’t take part. We often see new members introduce themselves with “I’ve been reading County Heaven for a while....” so, if you’re one of those people, please get involved – you won’t regret it!
We know that, sometimes, discussing County after a disappointing result is the last thing you want to do, but that’s what we’re there for. Think of us as an outlet for pent up frustration (within reason). If nothing else we have our Games Room as a distraction and, if that doesn’t cheer you up, have a look at the jokes thread which is always bound to raise a smile – Archie’s latest is a cracker!
And when County do win, like last Saturday, it’s even better!
