Afternoon all
We're back in action with Week I, and ARS is your host as we kick off the new year with something a little different....
***
Manufacturers only. No impalas (sorry Dean and Sam), no Imps, Igos or Imprezas.
Innocenti:
What an odd lot these were. they produced lambretta scooters, and then remodels of lots of british leyland cars. You may recognise some innocenti models, from their rebadged mini to various other austins, austin-healeys, including this, the innocenti regent:
Can you tell what it is yet?!?
However, the innocenti c, based on an austin-healey sprite, doesn't look completely horrible and they only made 795 of them.
Other than that, it's a pretty poor range, although they did jointly develop a prototype with ferrari, the innocenti 186 GT (which is a cool name), but only managed two examples and obviously never went to market.
Isdera commendatore silver arrow c112i
Isdera operate out of a workshop in hildesheim, germany. they have sold an estimated 70 cars since 1983.
they made one commendatore c112i, and then in 1999, they made one commendatore silver arrow c112i. yes, two. one of each. it's quite exclusive:
Along with the gull wing doors, it has a gull wing engine cover and a wiper from a bullet train for improved aerodynamics. oh, and a six litre mercedes engine that propelled it to a top speed of 230. its brother had a periscope rear view mirror rather than wing mirrors, as also seen on their previous model, the imperator 108i:
Intermeccanica:
Ok. still unfamiliar manufacturer territory for me (this one's canadian), but some good lookers here, if a little derivative:
the 1968 italia spyder:
their late fifties roadster:
has now been updated to this current model:
smell the leather. see the little door pocket with its closeable flap:
And there you go. I trust it was educational.
