Having got back to Leicestershire on Sunday I am humbled to see the effect of the helicopter crash at the King Power on Saturday night, the impact on a number of friends who are City supporters and the whole of the family of football responding to this tragedy. One of football's darkest days in recent times but I am astounded by the way the football club and the city have come together in a very dignified way Football fans often get a bad name in the press - but not here and not in the national press about how they conducted themselves. I send my sincere condolences to the 5 victims, but also to the whole of Leicestershire and especially to the players, staff and fans of City

My brother in law is a season ticket holder at the king power and he is away with us this week. Normally he would have been at the game. He is still in a state of shock. He was saying how when he went to Porto in the champions league they lost 5-0 and were awful. In the airport waiting to go back the players walked through and got piles of abuse. Then the owners came through and they got cheered to the rafters.

Such a tragedy and a great loss not just to Leicester City FC but the whole of the city of Leicester. Listening to reports of how much the owners have given to various charities over the past couple of years is amazing. Can't remember if they said it was a hospital or the university but he made a £1 million donation to help their cause when they were doing a fund raiser!
It's so refreshing to see a set of football fans welcome, regard and have nothing but admiration for the owners/ chairman of the club. When you see the Newcastle fans and Mike Ashley and the Man U fans and the Glazers relationships it makes you realise the special relationship Leicester have with their Thai owners.

An absolute tragedy.
My thoughts are with the families of those that lost their lives, with everyone connected with the club, the away supporters and indeed the city as a whole.

Growing up as an aspiring GK, Shilts was my hero and I had a Leicester annual with him on the cover so I have always had an affinity with the club.
RIP - a great owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha who looked after the club, had its best interests at heart, nurtured it and gave alot to the city.

It was £2M to the new children's hospital He also said that when a fan was cycling to every away game in a season in order to raise funds for his sick child, he committed £1K for each game. When he presented the cheque to the fan at the end of the season he had made it up to £45K which was what was needed to hit the target of £100K My friends are still reeling down here.

Impeccably observed by both sets of supporters at EP tonight - and brought a tear to my eye as I tweeted this. Thoughts are with everyone in Leicester...
