If Rooney signs his new deal offered by United and the reported salary is correct, it would take a man earning £25,000 a year, 12 years to reach what he earns in a week.

Is this the same Man United that not so long ago were around £800m in debt, and had to pay off a huge 200m+ off that debt about three years ago?
Ryan McKnight's head is like a baby's pram, full of sh*t and broken biscuits.

So then, Joey Barton reckons Rooney is not world class and lacks the mentality to be so.
Does Barton actually, believe what he says, or does he just say things to attract a reaction?
IMO Rooney is a world class player and I'd go on to say, probably the only English player anywhere near that category.
Blimey, the latter part of that last sentence is almost Bartonesque, but I'll stand by it.

rooney might not have a lot of class as a character, but he's certainly got world class feet.
barton can sometimes be funny, but he's an utter scumbag, with a litany of thuggish acts behind him. a horrible society where he (and to a slightly lesser extent rooney) are rich beyond most people's comprehension.

He did this (sort of) with Steven Gerrard a few years back, saying he was better than him and should be in the England team. The lad might be able to talk (a lot), but most of what comes out of his mouth is just garbage aimed at gaining attention. He's attempting to reinvent himself as some sort of thinking man's footballer, but we all know the real Joey Barton does his thinking with his feet (and fists), coming to a late night Maccy's near you!
I personally don't think Rooney is as great as some say he is, but who is Barton to question any of his betters, because that is what Rooney is, his better. Barton's a thug who can talk a good game, nothing more.

A forward line of messi, rooney and ronaldo.
(rooney included just ahead of self proclaimed 'great' ibrahimovic).
IMO, that is.

I personally believe Rooney's best position would be where the younger Paul Scholes played, he's not an out and out striker and never has been for me. He'd be far more explosive coming from deep, and he's brilliant when running with the ball from midfield.

I think Chelsea will rue the fact that they missed out on his signature in the summer. At the moment, any decent performance U***** have (and thankfully it's rare), is because of him and his winning mentality.
I don't particularly like Rooney, but as a footballer, he's got it.
