Here's your chance to vote for the County Heaven 'Player of the Season'.
Feel free to pen a sentence or two why you've voted for that player.
According to 'Stats corner' in the County programme for the Darlington match we've had 40 players turn out this season.
I've only added the 28 players who have played for County in one or more League matches.
I've really no idea who will be the County Heaven winner, so over to all the County Heaveners - cast your vote before 31/05 11.30pm.
Cheers.

Oswell the goal machine for me, I managed to watch three matches at home this season. He only scored in one but got three! In the other two he never received the ball in a position to even shoot. Imagine the damage he’d cause with truly fast wingers running the flanks.

At the time of writing, the first 3 votes have gone to Hinchliffe, Oswell and Warburton. While they would form my top 3 list, I do find it hard to separate them. However, by default, one thing that does separate them is that Hinchliffe also performed at a high standard for us last season and, across the two seasons, he's been the most consistent player. If memory serves me well, he's been able to pick up his fair share of MOMs on ceefer's voting threads so he just pips the others.
Of the U23s, I would go with Duxbury with Cowan close behind. Given it somewhat looked like Cowan would 'just' be a squad player, he ended up appearing more than anyone else! Well done.

I appear to be alone in voting for Duxbury, very tough decision but last season he looked miles off the grade but has come on massively this season becoming one of our best and most versatile players.

All good selections so far. I went with Matty Warburton - for me he's been the creative spark in this team and offered that little touch of extra quality in the final third.
Obviously Oswell has been banging them in, but to me Matty makes us tick. To draw a comparison with this time last year, we all assumed Lloyd would be off but desperately wanted to keep Montrose. Arguably we have missed Lewis a lot more than Danny this season. I think it'll be a similar situation this year. As much as we would love to keep Oswell, I feel he'll be on to bigger things next year. Warburton however has a contact for next season, and he should be who we look to build the team around.

Warburton, Duxbury, Oswell - all brilliant, really hard to separate but personally I think most improved (in the matches I have seen) Adam Thomas - so he gets my vote

Warburton for me - and for very much the same reasons as gts has articulated. Knows how to take a free-kick, too!

It's a difficult question to answer as I don't think that any one player has performed consistently well all season and whilst I was critical of JG's decision to stick him up front Jimmy Ball has come closest to consistency but since I like a player with a bit of flair I'm going with Matty Warburton

Well done. an U23s poll too? i would find it difficult to separate those two herm. duxbury offers so much attacking width with his skill, tenacity and crossing, but we're often very vulnerable down his side, whereas cowan is more 'steady eddie', but his form for the first half of the season in particular was excellent, even if i think he's dropped off a little bit.

Tough one. Several players who've had very good spells within the season but not consistent. Jimmy Ball, Harry Winter and Scott Ducbury spring to mind. On Hedgegrowers reports I've often read Dan Cowan as 'Mr Consistency". I can't argue with that, he's had a very good first season. However, for me it has to be Ben Hinchcliffe. A really good keeper at this level and saved our skin more than once.

Whoops forgot to add my twopennyworth.. tough one between Matty and Ben. A great GK is supposedly worth at east 20 points a season and Ben has excelled as a shot stopper. Only negatives are Ormson is a better penalty stopper and generally has better distribution, so for that reason and Matty's lust for the game and drive to get the ball forward and in the net my vote goes to Mr Warburton. Great to see both are signed up for next season.

Player of the Season as voted by County Heaveners is Matty Warburton , with Ben Hinchliffe as a worthy runner up. Thanks for voting.
