Radio Macc:
Even more strangely (given that there have been 6 subs...), just two minutes of added time!

sounds like the referee wants to get to the Friary for a cone of chips before McConville cleans them out!

Radio Macc: Nice moment after the final whistle, as Briggsy applauds all sides of - dare I say - Fortress Edgeley.

Thanks again to Team Radio Macc.
It sounded like a good solid performance and a routine win.
We could do with more like this!

for mcconville, surely there's no need to prepare - he will make a pointless, useless c**t of himself without our intervention. ladies and gentlemen, i thank you...

I speak five languages fluently, two well, plus bits of five others. But can someone translate Scott Duxbury's text for me?
By the way, Hatter In Macc...

Great Tweet: Class! Duxbury isn't bragging there. He absolutely snuffed the sour-faced social loafer out of the game today, just as he did on his fresh-faced debut for the team at Bower Fold in September. Another tremendous performance by our left back today - and in the face of no little provocation, either. Oh - and, for any League Club scouts who may be reading this, Scott is normally completely useless... . The current run of form is genuinely heartwarming. Just as was the case on Tuesday, there were no weak links in the side this afternoon - and the back four, in particular, played impeccably as a unit: Jacobs was 'Mr Consistency', as usual; Cowen slotted in seamlessly to fill the banned Fagbola void; while Lees, alongside him, turned in another accomplished performance that will have had Stalyvegas gnashing their teeth about having let him join us earlier this term. Platt continued his emergence as a quality midfielder, too. He, together with Churchman, is making a true difference in the link-up play. Up top, and on the flanks, Moke, Jevons, Howard and Dennis all worked hard for each other. Hopefully, the knock that led to the last-named's substitution won't have done any great damage. Dennis is on fire right now, after an unsteady start to the season, and has become the integral part of the side that we predicted in pre-season he would. We still wait to see Dibble seriously tested. Today's visitors looked to have a tiny bit more about them than Vauxhall Motors, but still didn't produce very much that ended up on target. The way in which our 'keeper fluffed his lines in the lead-up to the disallowed goal was a little worrying, but, thankfully, was of no consequence in the event. A couple of tough tests await our in-form side over the next two Saturdays: away at Telford, and hosting Solihull. Four points from those two, and we will really be singing! Great to catch up with a number of Heaveners - Cap'n Beefheart (although he may have yet to register on our new site?), Fudgie, Morrissey, Sandbach, Shropshire and Siriuses Senior and Junior - before the game, in celebration of Sandy's birthday. He will certainly look back on this one with nothing but good memories!

Tasty local derby that was.
And a bit of atmosphere at Edgeley Park, for the first time in some months.
Mind you, the boys in blue are finally giving us fans something to shout about, so I guess with the run comes the atmosphere.
Had some edge that did, today. Made my day when that whinging toe rag of podginess, who still clearly has a loyalty card at the chippy, got himself sent off for nowt more than being a total pr**k.
It was the third time the whole ground stood in unison - the other two occasions being the goals.
Really enjoyed that. Dare I say it but we may be seeing the green shoots of a decent team here.

a bit pathetic, but the most heartwarming bit of my day was seeing mcconvile trudging down the tunnel with his head down to a chorus of abuse from the main stand. he did give AL a wave on the way off though. there's obviously a bit of needle as they were squaring up to each other earlier. i thought the sending off was a combination of team/manager/fans winding the scowling little f*** up to the point he self-destructed. whether it's strictly in the spirit of the game or not, that few minutes was the most football match-like atmosphere i've heard in EP in some time.
3,100? rubbish. possibly 2,100. it looked to me that there were a few hundred more than on tuesday night, although i'd still have guessed under 2k. to get the announced figure today you'd have to double tuesday's gate and add 300. just an error, i assume, although i haven't been able to ratify it against the cows report...as there is no cows report.
not anything like as fluent a display as tuesday, but everybody did alright again. scott duxbury just looks better by the game. kristian dennis took his goal very calmly so we just have to hope the injury isn't serious, although he must be a doubt for monday night. dicko and oates both just failed to get their toes on a couple of crosses that could have stretched the lead, but we've done enough to reach the heady heights of 11th!
pitch looked a bit knackered. i'm just guessing, but i suspect that the maintenance of it now doesn't include immediately after the game, and it was cutting up in places today. they seemed to have been training on it in front of the railway end too as it was a bit of a mess there, and the dreaded sand was visible in one corner. it's fortress edgeley at the moment, but let's hope it's not built on sand...

What an attendance: 3107 - and we are only half way up the league - fabulous i know it's hard to estimate from inside the ground sometimes mhh, but having occupied my usual seat on both tuesday and today, there's no way that we had two and a bit times more today. just a bit more incompetence. keep winning at home though and we will start to see a few more again.
