Great result with the sponsors MoM going to Warby.
Difficult choice as his free kick goal was sublime, but have to consider Stephenson and Oswell. I'm going with Stephenson as he put their defence on the rack and gave 100%

A four-way tie at the top, now that I have given my vote to Jimmy Ball.
Without doubt, a 'Marmite' player - but he really put in a shift on this occasion.

Went for Warburton but it's great to see the range of performances reflected in our choices. Young Cowan also did great - he looks like a quality addition.

Both strikers were good, but in much different ways. Warburtons goal was a real peach! I also agree that young Cowan did very well keeping their bruiser of a CF in check. Great turn of pace too. I think the attacking players will always take the eye by the nature of what they do but credit where credit is due, Cowan showed a maturity and composure which I wasn't expecting. Hopefully he'll build on it and progress.

Jimmy Ball for me. Not the quality of Montrose but he quietly got on with his job, particularly in the second half

A number of players I could have chosen, but I will go for Oswell. I saw him in the pre season friendly vs Macc, but thought he was fantastic on Tuesday night.
Everything that came into him he won, his first touch is great and protects the ball very well. He showed some fantastic touches - I remember one in the second half with a little back heel that made a very good chance for us. Not to mention his movement into the channels that created the assist for the first goal, and being in the perfect position to score later on.
Definitely one to get signed up for a longer contract if we can, because he will score 20+ goals and make 10+ assists this season I am sure of it.

agreed gts. i was impressed with him against macc, then being a pain to the Fouling Giants of Barrow; and then again against curzon. looks like a fantastic bit of recruitment. also really like the look of warburton, and am expecting loads from stephenson when he's up to speed as jim keeps mentioning he's not fully fit.
agree on cowan as well gents. what i like most about him is that he's able to do the defensive work, but he's really composed on the ball too. early days yet, but he's another i'd be hoping we extend the contract of.
