Already on it Rog. And my decision is final - the name you get is non-negotiable!

Right, we have 10 players for the poker tournament:
Lucky Lennie The Gaz Man Super Market Evil Eppy No Budge Fudge Mad Dog Macc The Ace of Duds ARS-Bag Sirius "Sly Dog" Iron The Artful Roger
I'll now use a random number generator (the things you find online honestly) to allocate you all a place at the table....

Here's how the table looks. Remember, we start from my left:
NO BUDGE FUDGE THE ARTFUL ROGER
EVIL EPPY MAD DOG MACC
SIRIUS "SLY DOG" IRON ARS-BAG
THE ACE OF DUDS SUPERMARKET
LUCKY LENNIE THE GAZ MAN
THE DEALER
I will shortly be sending everyone a PM with their two dealt cards. If anyone isn't sure as to the potential strength of their hand, now or at any stage throughout the game, just respond to that PM or send me an e-mail.
We start with Lucky Lennie, who has to decide whether to 'check' to remain in the hand, or 'fold' to leave this round. Once he has responded to this thread, it's The Ace of Duds' turn, and so on. Please make sure you only respond when it's your turn. Once The Gaz Man has made his decision, I'll update who remains in this hand, and then draw "The Flop".
You should all receive a PM shortly.

I am new to the poker game but just checking - that is real terms that the Dealer is using, right?

How do you mean, 'real terms'?!

In hindsight, might it take a while if everyone has to wait for the person to their right to decide what to do before they can have their go?
If people would prefer to just respond with their decision as soon as they have considered their cards, I'm happy to alter the rules?

Happy to go with the majority view on this, Sandy, but would certainly have no objection to responding straight away.
I guess that it may only take one of us to be offline for a day or so to make this a very long, drawn-out game - and require chasing on your part, too!

No, lets play it our Mr Dealer as you planned - I'm sure given that everyone frequents the boards - then they will check or fold promptly

Fine by me - we are, as you say, 'Supermarket', all regulars on here, so let's see how it goes!

I like the original rules

It's taken me quite a while to get my head around the first set of rules (and I'm still not convinced I've got it) so I'd prefer to keep it as it was.
The danger with changing the rules is that is all becomes a bit slapdash and over too quickly - and we don't want that, do we? (Just ask Mrs E)

I'll go along with everyone else, but I'm not sure I can get on as often as you guys, so feel free carry on without me if I'm not around.
