Eppers is judging the last one for us at the momemnt, but we need to be away with this Tuesday coming around fast.
Stop Press:- CF is your judge for this one. Cheers.
To Ashton's old ground called "Hurst Cross" No !! Not a bad tempered Geoff at a loss !!! With our promising start Jim's team's looking the part ......................................................................
Have fun.
Homework for the week:- The club initially played at Holebottom on Smallshaw, before moving to Rosehill and then to Hurst Cross in 1880, making the ground one of the oldest football venues in the world. Geoff Hurst was born in Ashton-under-Lyne, Lancashire, on 8 December 1941. Shortly before World War II, the club signed Dixie Dean, but the outbreak of hostilities limited him to a handful of appearances for the club.

Apologies for a "same rhyme" challenge as Alty but it was too good a word-play not to use.

Quality not quantity on this one! Only 2 entrants so thanks to Herman and Maccy for their lines.
I want to give you both the win but I don't know how it would work judging the next round? So I can only go for the one that I found the funniest and that is...
Maccy with "But when will we be famous - like Bros?!"
If it's any consolation Herman, you came 2nd! :-)

Sorry, len, completely missed this one. I was in with a chance of a podium place, too!
Poor show on my part, so I'll have to make it up on the next one.
Well played macc and herm.

Sad there were so few entries as I thought it was one of my best play-on-words for quite a while.
However, one can only lead a horse to water .... etc. Sorry you missed it Eppers.
Thanks to Macca and Herm for entering and thanks to CF for the difficult decision.
Onward we go. Cheers all.

I didn't even start entering Sandy's quiz this week until today either, so even though I've been posting my usual nonsense elsewhere I've been so tired that I just haven't been checking the games room. Sorry, matey, but I'll be putting that right on the new one!

Thanks, chaps - and c_f in particular... although, hopefully, 'I owe you nothing' after you gave the nod to a Bros line. Arf.
And there will be a share of the champers for you, H!
