A great manager.
Last summer, those idiots from Stretford should have gone all out to secure his signature. If the rumours are true that Charlton and some of the other "suits" don't particularly care for him, then look what they've finished up with. Mourinho or Moyes, now really, is there a choice? Obviously, the Stretford crowd would have faced stiff competition from the rich Russian, but their appeal would certainly have interested the "Special One". To rub further salt into the Stretford wounds, I think he'll nick Rooney off them in the summer and I also think Van Persie will return to Arsenal. Had Mourinho been appointed there, both would have stayed.
Mourinho has his critics & his faults, but his achievements are there for all to see. He said he needed to bring a Black & Decker to destroy the West Ham wall last month, well I don't know about that, but I do know, he certainly has his team well drilled.
I'm sure there'll be added silverware in the Chelsea Boardroom very soon.
Good on you, Jose.

I think he'd have picked United over Chelsea, simply because they're a more historic and famous club with a fanbase second to none, though I don't think he'd have done much better than Moyes has done, I don't think Moyes is doing much wrong, he's just inherited a very old and past it squad, I think he'll need time to make it his own but I do think in 2 or 3 years they'll be back to where they were.
I'm a huge fan of Jose and think he is a breath of fresh air to the Premier League, say it quietly but I also liked Ferguson and Mancini despite not being fond of their respective clubs!

The best manager of his generation in football in my opinion, I think he's absolutely brilliant, and plays the media like a violin.
A class act, and by all accounts a class bloke. Says what he thinks, very much in the Cloughie mode, with more than just a hint of our Danny for good measure.

To add to your point, Rog United fans will tell you that the board wanted someone to continue what Ferguson created, building for the long-term, but it's not the same club that Ferguson took over. It needed somemone to carry on winning things too, but what has Moyes actually won ever? Mourinho may be a free-spirited type and not the type you would associate with youth academies and rainy Tuesday nights watching the reserves, but he wins trophies wherever he goes, and it should indeed have been him that United broke the bank for. They would have been mixing it at the top if they had.
Instead they find themselves outside the Champions League place party trying to gatecrash it through the back door. If they miss out, that will be a huge blow. Some fans say the board accept Moyes will take time to bed in and will give him time, but by the same token a top ten place is not what they expect, they will be demanding top four at the very least. It'll be interesting to see how badly the PLC feels the hit if they miss out.

I think he's absolutely brilliant, and plays the media like a violin. Only Cantona has ever played the media better.

I would add, that I'm more than happy with the turmoil at U*****.
The travesty of 1978 still very much irks, even to this day.

Indeed, Rog, I hope their 'faithful' go without success for a very long time, see how those 75,000 crowds hold up. It's the Stockport reds I feel sorry for, a long spell without a trophy would be a traged.............y.

it's a great couple of days to see both the manchester clubs losing. mourinho defied expectations last night too - they were unlucky on several occasions, particularly the three that hit the woodwork.
it's probably slightly difficult for the united board to entirely blame moyes, given the new chief exec's dismal summer transfer window...ooh look...he's come back early off united's far eastern tour to conclude some transfer business...look...he's signed NOBODY...until the panic-buy of hair bear bunch as the window was about to 'slam shut'(tm).
mourinho is fun because he does say what he thinks, but he also says just as forcefully what he doesn't really think in order to manipulate both the media and his opponents. the 'swan in scotland' press conference first time around as he deadpanned about the bird flu is still one of the funniest bits of media-play i've seen.
