Radio Macc:
No hat-trick for Dennis on this occasion. He's subbed, making way for Oates.

Radio Macc:
Man of the Match: Jevons. Duxbury must have run him close, though - he's been a class act.

It's raining goals instead of water at EP !!
Brilliant stuff from Radio Macca and Relay Station Gazza employed.
Any higher and we will all be having nosebleeds.

Childishly enjoyed the sound of the horn when their keeper kicked the ball. Nearly put him off Guys behind were shouting as many motoring puns there was. Four goals and I think a positive goal difference for a long time. Happy days

Great game of football, County looked very dangerous though I do think the penalty against Fagbola was harsh, it looked as though it was smashed at him with no time to react, until that point he'd had a good game.

Just what we needed to warm the cockles of our hearts on a chilly night - although rather that kind of weather than the wind-sweeping rainstorms that are just starting to beat their way around Macc Towers as I type!
It was a tremendous team performance, and no one player let the side down: Dennis, Howard and Jevons are looking, and unselfishly playing, for each other up top; Moke continues to tie opposing defences in knots (he just needs to work on that final ball in...); Platt is looking better with every game in midfield; we surely have, in Jacobs (his usual, consistently good self tonight) and Duxbury (his most accomplished display yet - utterly brilliant), the best full-back pairing in The Skrill North; and our central defence has the look of some calmness and solidity, at last. Felt sorry for Fagbola over his sending-off, although am guessing that, according to the letter of the law, the ref felt he had no option, given the ball was clearly goal-bound. One consolation is that Cowen is fit again, and that he and the increasingly dependable Lees should work well in partnership while Jordan serves out his two bans.
It was good, too, to see the Barnsley loanees in action: Dibble did what was required of him, kept talking to his defenders, and almost kept out the penalty; while Oates showed plenty of promise, and a potential eye for goal, during his brief cameo.
Aside from anything else, it is simply grand to be going along to EP with a feeling of some optimism that County can win games on their own patch. That makes it four victories and a draw (which, but for the decision not to award a nailed-on spot-kick against Workington, should also have yielded three points) in our last five appearances in SK3. Whisper this - but is that the sound of foundations being laid to rebuild a Fortress?!
