It was a decent match played in a gale force wind. Too much lofting the ball instead of playing along the ground. Great sub again from JG with CMW coming on and doing the biz. I thought it wasnt going in and had that slow time action replay moment as the ball slowly and quietly drifted in...to come back to reality with the county fans celebrations Difficult choice today ...Hinchliffe was a safe pair of hands. CMW had the moment of real quality but I do like the way the team was resilient (from listening to the game), even Lloyd doing some defensive heading work!
So, as everyone dug in for the cause I'll pick up on the team spirit by giving it to Ross. He's had to sit out some games of late which must be tough with being the captain and also being the more experienced right back. But it was telling from JK on Pure when he said last season's squad meal saw 3 players attend. This year it was 15. I know JG chooses the players and the type of person they are will obviously have a bearing but listening to some of the players comments in the Podcast, it does sound like Ross does well to bring people together. He might not appear a traditional on-field captain (shouting orders etc), but the spirit being brought onto the pitch is what makes results such as a 0-1 away win possible in my view. Plus, he has a 12-pack and looks generally lovely... I'm told.

The entire defence deserves a collective medal today - but my choice for the individual award goes to Smalley, who was absolutely outstanding.
His second-half blocking of Pittman's shot, when Harrogate's leading scorer would otherwise have been through on goal, was both crucially and perfectly timed.

No Jim Gannon in this poll obviously, but he should get it for me, after once again proving to be the master of tactical changes with yet another match-winning substitution!
