Next up, a trip this Saturday to that well-known northern outpost in Gloucestershire. Our hosts are still in exile, while their old ground gets raised above flooding level - so remember to head for Cheltenham's 'World of s Stadium'! Post your hopes and fears, laughter and tears and all the usual malarkey here...

I'll go for a 2-2 draw, Hopper x2 for them and Lloyd and Marsden for us. With a couple of knocks last time out, it's good to hear in JG's interview that K and Marsden are fine and only Cartwright seems like one who'll miss out due to illness in the week. With Minihan doing so well last time, be interesting to see if Ross sits out again or both are used in the line-up. Anyway, get ready for goals...

Quite a hardworking and athletic line up with good height. If we can keep it tight, Marsden and Felix are great options to come on.
If we score from a corner, I will buy the goalscorer a Christmas jumper.

Agreed, and no repeat of dropping points late on as in the previous 2 league games. Well done to Duxbury for completing his first 90 since injury and to Felix for notching his first goal. Unless I've forgotten one, that's also the second penalty Hinchliffe has faced and saved this season.

and no repeat of dropping points late on as in the previous 2 league games. That bit is key, hopefully it's a sign that the players are learning. I don't know why, but for the first time in a long time - when Maccy announced the five minutes of stoppage time - I wasn't expecting the next Tweet to signal an opposition goal. Well done, Jim & the lads!

Unless I've forgotten one, that's also the second penalty Hinchliffe has faced and saved this season. me and my brother were talking about that, and we both think it's the one at staly, then the one today, as well. really good three points. we're pretty good away mostly - won at chorley, drew at tamworth (who are flying), won today, as well as winning at curzon, alty and staly, all places at which we might have fancied three points. now, if only we could make SK3 a fortress...

Agreed! In terms of home games, the only teams who have seen themselves go in at HT losing more often than County (4 times in 10 games) are Nuneaton and the three teams in the relegation zone. That doesn't make for pretty reading! On the positive side, 4 home leads at HT evolved into 3 victories... and it should have been 4 victories (BPA we threw away). Not that none of us wouldn't think 1st halves are important, but clearly the stats reinforce the need to cut out slow/flat starts to games.
