You Only Live Twice was a decent 007 movie, but it wasn't Connery's best. Indeed, as it transpired it was the straw that broke the camel's back, ensuring he wouldn't be doing OHMSS - enter George Lazenby....
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing personal against George, he always seems grateful and honoured to have been a part of the 007 universe and a lot more gracious than Connery when it comes to making appearances at '007' functions - Connery hates talking about it and never seems to take part in any celebrations of the franchise.
But as good a story as OHMSS was and as good as the action scenes were with George, he was just a terrible choice as an actor, even having his voice dubbed by someone who could speak in an upper class British accent. OHMSS would have been a brilliant movie had Connery done it, and I will always look upon YOLT as the movie that killed it.
So for this reason I can't bring myself to put 'You Only Live Twice' ahead of 'Young Frankenstein' as my choice this week.

i remember quite liking 'the young poisoner's handbook', but 'yellow submarine' for me. psychedelic but a bit sinister, and contains 'only a northern song' as well as the joyous title track.

When this thread first started even in week A I knew what this letter's choice for me would be, And it's sad to think when we started this off he was still with us...
My favourite film of all time and one that I still watch on DVD every 4 - 6 weeks and that is Young Frankenstein
RIP Gene

I like a mixture of CGI/Cartoon/real action so I'm going for
Yogi Bear

Young Frankenstein is a comfortable winner this week, and will be added to our collection in a second.
I'm away from Sunday morning, so I'll try to remember to start Week Z tomorrow if I can, but if it hasn't appeared by Sunday afternoon, it means I didn't get chance (or forgot) and we'll have a break for a week before finishing off CHIME, and starting the new A-Z, when I get back.
Ta.
