Vanishing Point for me. Whether viewing it as a scenic road movie, post-hippy-fallout symbolism or both, this is a cult classic. Which prompts me to add a tune that shares the film's title, albeit without having anything else to do with it. Others may say there are better New Order tracks... but they'd be wrong - and it has an all-time great ending:

This weeks winner for me is Van Wilder with the extremely funny Ryan Reynolds.

i think i'm going to have to sit out this week - just haven't seen as many v-flicks as v's i've flicked. i loved 'valley of the gwangi' when i was little because of the ray harryhausen dinosaurs, but it is assuredly shite. apart from 'the virgin suicides' and one or two others, i just haven't been watching, and it doesn't feel like there's an obvious winner.
macca, the end of new order's 'vanishing point' being another film reference that you're saving for 'w'? i loved that song when 'technique' came out, but it's not in my NO top ten. not that i have an NO top ten, but better than 'ceremony', 'temptation', 'your silent face'? i'd have it behind 'leave me alone', 'lonesome tonight', 'procession', 'as it is when it was', 'regret' and a few others (i've deliberately stopped shy of naming an entire ten in case i get any sadder).

No outstanding V's for me.
Mentions for: The Vanishing - the original, not the remake Vincent - the bonus b/w animation on Nightmare Before Christmas - wonderful narration by Vincent Price
I'll go for The Virgin Suicides (with not a great deal of enthusiasm)

macca, the end of new order's 'vanishing point' being another film reference that you're saving for 'w'? Ooh - very good, exile. And, yes, could be!

Time's up - and we have a five-way tie-break decider to run next week. I'll set up the poll shortly, and will place the deadline at midday next Wednesday.

Had to go for my original vote as it's the only one on the list I've seen!

I can see this being like that scene in Mike Bassett: "....All those born in the first half of the year stay were you are, all those in the second half... other side of the line....."
